DENVER A store clerk's curiosity about why Najibullah Zazi was buying large quantities of beauty supply products indicated that something about the transaction wasn't quite right and it's an example of the kind of citizen vigilance that can combat terror, a police commander said Saturday.
Los Angeles police Cmdr. Joan McNamara cited this summer's incident as police chiefs meeting in Denver adopted a model for a nationwide community watch program that teaches people what behavior is truly suspicious and encourages them to report it to police.
Federal authorities allege Zazi, 24, tried to make a homemade explosive using ingredients from beauty supplies purchased at Denver-area stores. He has been jailed in New York on charges of conspiracy to detonate a weapon of mass destruction in a plot that may have targeted New York City. Zazi has denied the charges.
Los Angeles police Chief William Bratton, who developed the iWatch program with McNamara, called it the 21st century version of Neighborhood Watch.

Yea right, keep telling yourself that...
As long as its not a first step towards Obamas Civilian Police Force.
Soon to be incorporated into the Citizen Security Force, no doubt
Let’s concentrate on muzzies.
If someone reports something based on race or ethnicity, the police will not accept the reportSo if I live near an airport and call in a report like "some Arab-looking dudes on an apartment rooftop on 1st Street appear to be tracking aircraft with some kind of heavy-duty electronic equipment" I can expect to be informed that such reports can't be accepted, since I said the phrase "Arab-looking dudes".
I guess we’re not worried about profiling anymore.
There is other strange activity involved here. I think they are tossing things like “I just saw 30 Arabs in the hotel lobby.”
how did we get there? Now here’s a thought . . . .
If you are ready for the adventure of a lifetime, try this:
a.. Go to Pakistan , Afghanistan or Iraq illegally. Never mind immigration quotas, visas, international law, or any of that nonsense. Just show up.
b.. Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.
c.. Demand bilingual nurses and doctors...
d. Demand free bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc.
e.. Procreate abundantly.
f.. Deflect any criticism of this allegedly irresponsible reproductive behaviour with, ‘It is a cultural thing; you wouldn’t understand.’
g.. Keep your original identity strong. Fly your national flag from your rooftop, or proudly display it in your front window, or on your car bumper.
h.. Speak only English at home and in public, and make sure that your children do likewise.
i... Demand classes on English culture in the Muslim school system.
j.. Demand a local country driver license or national insurance number equivalent
k.. This will afford other legal rights and will go far to legitimize your unauthorised, illegal, presence in Pakistan , Afghanistan or Iraq
l.. Drive around with no MOT, tax or insurance and ignore local traffic laws.
m.. Insist that local country law enforcement teaches English to all its officers..
n.. Organize protest marches against your host country, inciting violence against non-white, non-Christians, and the government that let you in.
Good luck! You’ll soon be dead.
It would never happen in Pakistan , Afghanistan or Iraq (or any other country in the world for that matter) except in the UK , US, or Canada , because we are run by soft, politically correct politicians that are too scared to ‘offend’ anyone.
If you agree, pass it on.
If you don’t go ahead and try the above in Pakistan , Afghanistan or Iraq
These Moose still tend to be rather dumb and obvious.
You’re right. (I hope.)
He should have bought the stuff in New York. The big-box store cashiers are so dumb, it is all they can do to operate the registers. They don’t even look at what you are buying.
She fired a warning shot into the ceiling after officers pried off burglar bars and broke down her door using a no knock warrant. None of the officers were injured by her gunfire, but Johnston was killed by the officers.
After the officers shot Johnston, they left her handcuffed on the floor while she bled to death, and then planted marijuana from their patrol car in her basement to try to help justify the shooting.
Officers Gary Smith, Gregg Junnier, and Arthur Tesler, were wearing bulletproof vests and carrying riot shields when they entered the home.
It was later determined that Johnston fired one shot, which did not hit any officers. The police officers fired a total of 39 shots, six of which hit Johnston. Police injuries sustained in the raid were due to friendly fire and were not from Johnston's gun.
In an attempt to justify the no-knock warrant, the Atlanta Police Department initially claimed that the police were searching for drug dealers after a police informant was said to have bought crack cocaine at Johnston's home earlier in the day. However, both a federal and state investigation revealed that this was untrue. In the affidavit police used to obtain a search warrant for Johnston's house, Atlanta, Georgia narcotics officers alleged their informant bought drugs inside Johnston's home earlier in the day from a man named "Sam", and that the home had video surveillance equipment justifying the no knock warrant.
In an interview with Atlanta television station WAGA a few days after Johnston's shooting, the informant denied having gone to her house and said that after the shooting, the police pressured him to lie and say that he had.
Detective Junnier has told the Federal Bureau of Investigation that some of the information used to obtain the search warrant on Johnston's home was false.
On February 7, 2007, it was announced that Georgia's district attorney would seek felony murder and burglary indictments against the three agents involved.
On April 26, 2007, Smith and Junnier pleaded guilty to manslaughter, violation of oath, criminal solicitation, and making false statements. Smith additionally pleaded guilty to perjury.
Furthermore, the federal probe into the police department revealed that Atlanta police routinely lied to obtain search warrants, including often falsifying affidavits.
On May 22, 2008, Tesler was sentenced to four years and six months in prison for lying to investigators. He also received six months probation and must serve 450 hours of community service.
On October 30, 2008, Tesler pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to violate the civil rights of Johnston.[17] On February 24, 2009, U.S. District Judge Julie Carnes sentenced former officer Gregg Junnier to six years in prison, Jason Smith to 10 years in prison and Arthur Tesler to five years in prison. Junnier and Tesler had faced recommended 10 years in prison under sentencing guidelines, while Smith faced 12 years and seven months.
Yeah, this will work out really well, rat out your neighbor 'cause his dog messes your lawn.
The fuzz occifers blundered with what they were told, went to the wrong place, then covered up. I don’t think this was revenge for doggy doo....
Oh, Okay, Spazi’s.

Well, to get back to the lead article, what DO you do if you run a beauty supplies shop and get a fellow ordering enough peroxide to do several dozen beauty parlors full of blondes? Especially if that’s all he orders? People can always lie to police to get other people into undeserved trouble, this is nothing new.
