A former "Late Show" intern came forward Saturday to say she is one of David Letterman's former flings.
"I was madly in love with him at the time," Holly Hester told TMZ.com. "I would have married him. He was hilarious."
The NYU alum said the relationship started when Letterman asked her on a date to the movies.
A year-long, secret romance ensued, she said, until the funnyman called it off.
Letterman, 62, admitted on air Thursday night that he had affairs with female staffers, but did not name them.
He made the confession while revealing that a CBS News producers had tried to extort $2 million from him, threatening to reveal the sex secrets.

calling servicing the old fool in his office "sleeping with him" is a bit of a stretch... Point!
To: Shyla
No matter how much he is worth, no way would I want to wake up to his ugly face in the morning. I agree, and I hope all the women were very well paid since Letterman is at least a "2 bagger" IMO. Eeeewwwww!

I don't understand how a poon hound like Letterman could turn down Holly Hestor.Maybe she tasted like bubble gum.Inn looks she certainly is shed and holders above Lettermans present wife.Looks are not everything I guess.
I also detect a slight tone of Hestor saying," You could have had it all David, you f'd up!" in her coming forward to claim a piece of the publicity.
She is still holding a little torch there maybe.

When I get my own TV show I might have a few flings with beautiful interns, so long as they like flabby old guys ... and I don’t care what y’all say about it.

Hes an alleged award winning journalist/producer, who in this instance, spiked a story for cash. So how many other stories did he spikeor perhaps alterfor cash? Has anyone done any research on this guy? This is CBS, Dan Rathers networkis this a pervasive pattern? You're right. Everyone's missed that - in his job he could easily come across "embarrassing" things - and he could either cover the story - or shake down the victim. Interesting take... The two million did seem high for a first time blackmail...
And did you notice - the guy had a beard - a classic sign a man who's hiding something...
Great catch Miz.

After one year, he told Hester he wanted to split because of their age gap. I would have split with him because of his tooth gap!

You are mistaken. One of them, was a long time acquaintance, an “om again, off again” lover, who had his baby, and he ended up marrying her recently. They now live together as man, wife, and 6(?) year old son.

No one I have heard of got a “promotion”. Where does one go up from ‘Personal Assistant’? Sure, it may be up from ‘Coffee girl’, but not exactly a glowing reference now is it?

No, you are mistaken. One was an assistant (Stephanie Birkett) who had an affair with BEFORE he was married, the other is this chick.
He married an entirely different person.

Holly's story comes one day after another former staff member,
Stephanie Birkitt, said she had an affair with Letterman in 1996, who then paid her tuition at Cardozo School of Law. Their affair ended when Letterman's son Harry was born in 2003 according to the New York Post.
However, Birkitt also lived with Robert (Joe) Halderman who has been charged with trying to extort $2 million from Letterman. Halderman was a former CBS news producer; he has been issued with a temporary order of protection and cannot go near David Letterman. He has pleaded not guilty.
