Chicago loses in first round of voting. 101st Airborne Division due in Copenhagen shortly.
Beck, an increasingly contentious figure, got under the Administration's skin via typically goofy segment (Link goes directly to video) on Obama's plan to travel to Copenhagen to lobby on behalf of the city of Chicago's bid for the 2016 Olympic Games. While the White House bloggers do effectively rebut several of the points raised during the segment on Beck's show, you have to ask yourself when the White House decided to duke it out with television pundits.
Guy Benson, blogging for the National Review, is wondering the same thing: "Perhaps I've totally missed the boat on this, but is it customary for the official White House website to attack individual political commentators and TV networks?...It seems utterly beneath the Office of the President of the United States to be authoring snarky blog posts assailing critics in the media. Unless I missed this type of thing in the past, this represents yet another unseemly change brought about by this hyper-partisan White House."
Look, the man promised us change. This counts. He never said the changes would be logical or productive, and if we read too much into that, that's our own fault.
Blogging at Time magazine, Michael Scherer sees potential for this to indeed drag on for a long while yet: "Quite a twist, eh? This is just the latest public declaration in the barely-subsurface battle that has been going on for months between Fox News and the White House--which Fox is winning at least in terms of ratings. We are in new terrain here. The White House is using its official blog to go after a network.

So you’re saying Beck will make Dear Leaders many TV appearances more entertaining... bring it on!
I think Rush and Glenn are operating as a team.
In bullfighting, you have the picador and the banderillero sticking the bull, making the bull charge around, expending energy and losing blood, until the matador comes in to finish him.
I think Rush and Glenn have a plan. I think Obama is spending too much time being enraged by Glenn to think about what Rush might have in store.
I'm thinking that the Chicago Thug in Chief might get crazy enough to order ACORN to try a hit on Glenn.
Now if O’Really would go back to being an obnoxious asshole he could get under their skin. As it is, he doing so much sucking up, so he can be the first to scoop an interview at Fox.
Never gonna happen.
I would disagree, a better strategy would be to go after “the most trusted” advisor (and BFF to Shelli) Valerie (Slum Poodle Millionaire) Jarrett.
ValGal, to quote the good Rev. Wright has been “riding dirty” with some real estate deals (housing for the poor morphing into housing for potential Olympic athletes...now just worthless, useless properties.). The Epic Fail of the Obamas and Oprah are “fresh” news; Jarrett’s self promoting financial ties are clear and easy to follow...Beck/Limbaugh/(even)Hannity need to drive this point home. Get Jarrett to step aside and you know then chaos is reigning in the WH.
“I hope the next scalp Beck takes is that of that POS commie whore Valerie Jarrett.”
Me too. She’s crooked as can be. When she goes, Obama will be in a jam, IMO, without his surrogate mamma by his side.
Beck has gotten more focused since the election. A year ago he seemed to be merely shooting off the cuff and was often unlistenable.
Not sure about the ladies, unless you are empty headed! Also cannot quite figure out how he got where he is today. He cannot ever be compared to the likes of Rush or Levin.
