Rahm Emanuel: Olympic critics get seats
Chicago Tribune ^

Posted on 10/02/2009 10:47:39 PM PDT by indcons

Republicans have been ready with criticism for President Barack Obama's overnight journey to Copenhagen, where the president today pressed Chicago's case for the 2016 Olympic Summer Games -- playing booster, as the Republican National Committee put it this morning, for Obama's "Chicago Fat Cat Friends.''

RNC Chairman Michael Steele, Sen. Kit Bond of Missouri and then House Republican Leader John Boehner of Ohio all have questioned the president's priorities.

And even as the president and First Lady Michelle Obama were leaving Copenhagen this morning following their appeal to the International Olympic Committee, the Republican National Committee was circulating an email complaining of the White House's "wrong priorities" (see that below the fold.) The RNC chairman today, chiding the president for "verbal gymnastics'' in Copenhagen, noted the newest numbers on rising unemployment back home (see below as well.)

Rahm Emanuel, the Chicagoan who is chief of staff for Obama, has an answer: "You know, we'll make sure they get some good seats once Chicago does host the games.''

Demonrats are jumping overboard from all decks of the USS obambi. They have been seriously embarrassed by obambi and now on an International Stage!

They are tired of his lies, his cowardly ways, his ego.

Could a Third Party be forming in the Senate. One composed of Senators who are against NAFTA, Illegal Immigration, Unsecured Borders, Insane Spending, Insane Obamacare, Retreat from Terrorists, Disarmament and other issues.

Pulling 15 from the Dems and Repubs would make the Senate a very tough roadblock for obambiism.

Maybe McCain can do something good and lead another type of McCain Mutiny.

Opposition to Dear leader need to beat this like a dead horse. Seeing as he lost, it’s excellent material and a good opportunity to hammer away at his priorities.

Regardless the myriad arguments of whether the POTUS himself should go to Copenhagen to pitch Chicago as the Olympic site for the 2016 games-

Regardless the timing of such a trip when the unemployment rate was being announced as being at a 26 year high of 9.8%-

Regardless the argument that Obama’s time would be better spent focusing on the health care question or the Iranian quandry or the Afghanistan quagmire or the Acorn quid pro quo-

What the F*** genius in our government had the brilliant idea to send Oprah Winfrey, the queen of the sit-on-your-ass crowd, to speak to the over-achievers of the I-O-freaking -C??? COME ON!!! Did no one have the foresight to see what a “dis” this would be? The IOC is made up of FORMER OLYMPIANS!! They stand for everything that the average Oprah watcher avidly avoids! Check ‘em out!

http://www.olympic.org/en/content/The-IOC/The-IOC-Institution1/

Okay, so I’m on the IOC. I hear that Obama is coming to make a pitch himself. That’s kinda cool but I’m a little leary as to why he thinks he needs to come himself. Maybe it’s that important- cool! Maybe he thinks I’ll be swayed by his star power- not so cool. I was a star myself at one time. But, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and hear him out. I hear he’s a really good speaker.

Then....Oprah is coming, too? The reality hits home what’s going on- I’m a “sit-on-my-ass do-nothing that’s easily swamped by stars” to these people! They have no respect for me! They think that I will be so dazzled by them that I’ll just hand them whatever they want. Like a Chicago Housing Project resident would!

F*** THAT!!! Chicago comes in last on my ballot. I don’t give a good freaking f*** what Obama says now. Or his wife. And F*** Oprah! Lemme vote!

That's a mighty big maybe. I don't expect that leopard to change his spots - ever.

Jesse Jackson was right, they did send the ‘A” team.

Or better yet, the “ASS” team.

Now Obama, you think you can do your job honor McChrystal’s request?

I don’t know what Rio is so happy about? This ain’t over yet- the dead vote still hasn’t been counted yet. That’ll surely take Chicago over the top.

I can only imagine how they had it planned if Chicago had won the bid. Obama, Michelle, Oprah...can’t you see the triumphant, smug smiles, handwaves and strutting they would have done?

Instead they had it handed to them on a platter.

It will go a long way toward Carterizing Obama.

??? He'd have to pull his head out of his @$$ first. Seriously, McCain lead a mutiny...! He thinks he and the rest of the RINOs are the voice of the Republican Party. He's who conservatives are pulling away from....

I mean really...look at those people. Not a respectable looking human in the bunch. They all look like they came strait from ACORN central casting. And as to that sign she is holding in the photo. The last time someone carried a torch for Oprah. It was a villager storming the castle.

Isn’t it better for Obama to have tried and failed than to never have tried at all?
