The IOC did Chicago and American taxpayers a favor...the Olympics are a HUGE financial loser...even the ‘84 L.A. Olympics that were reported to be a financial gain failed to report the millions it cost for SECURITY...I went to the boxing at the Shrine auditorium...for free(friend who worked at ABC gave me tix); the Shrine auditorium was EMPTY. And besides the opening & closing ceremonies, everyone stayed home and watched it on TV.

Not anymore. Since Rio is only one hour ahead of Eastern Time Zone, at least in the Eastern and Central time zones they can broadcast all the Olympic events--including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies--LIVE. In short, when the opening ceremonies start at 7:00 pm Rio time, it will start at 6:00 pm Eastern/5:00 pm Central time, not an issue since most Americans in the eastern half of the USA can be home in time to see it.

I was curious to see how the DUmmies were taking the news. As expected they are saying “no big deal...they knew Rio had the lock, yadda yadda, yadda.” Their BS stank up my monitor (as usual). But truly this is a stunning loss for Obama because it was the FIRST city to get rejected while Spain stayed alive.

Europe will host the 2012 Olympics so CW would dictate that Spain would be first to go. So much for the world worshiping at the Alter of Obama. This is a huge dis. They didn’t even give him the gift of being able to say it was a close, hard fought race. It was a clear blow off.
