That teenager who was beaten to death a few days ago is more evidence of the fact that guns are not the only tool used to commit evil acts.

" ... a nationwide re-establishment of the right to bear arms ..."A minor - but important - quibble. > Re-establish? < The right has existed since before the founding, the essential component of the Unalienable rights of Life and Liberty! (and darned well important for the weekend Pursuit of Happiness and the 10 ring). Infringed it has been, but not de-established. Perhaps "re-discovering" is the better word.

“Left open was the question of whether states and local governments are required to do the same”
Wonder if the question would be so open if a state or local govt decided to outlaw newspapers, or to conduct random home searches without warrants, or even probable cause, or to outlaw the building of a mosque?
It seems that only the 2nd amendment doesnt apply to the states, huh?

X-ring. If newspapers were licensed like gun owners it would be a different song, huh? I can make the case that since newspapers are made of a limited natural resource they should be only two pages long, and you can only buy 1 a day (or less). Save the planet - don’t buy the NYT, its’ a tree killer. Heh.

I cant remember how the vote went on the last case that said individuals have the right to bear arms?
was it 5-4 ? and was Kennedy in the majority? In other words will Sotomayor make a difference?

So you are saying she will find that wise latina law corresponds with Fidel Castro versus Pancho Villa? I doubt she knows anything about El Cid.

Praying they uphold our Constitution. Gun Control in Chicago has done NOTHING to stop the murderous gangs and criminals.Wouldn't matter if it did work. Unconstitutional is unconstitutional. Not working makes it look really stupid to boot, but is irrelevant.
