BOSTON - Sex in a dorm at Tufts University is fine. Sex in a Tufts dorm with your roommate there? That's a no-no.
The Boston-area school has a new policy this semester banning sexual activity while a roommate is in the same room.

That is one thought that crept into the “weird” section of my mind. So they are banning threesomes if threesomes include the roommate?
My U. had one wing of one dorm that had a 0 hour visitation policy that was referred to as the Virgin Vault.
No sex rooms in college? Not even at Liberty. They just think it doesn’t happen there.
Since so many college students have later been falsely accused of rape by former girlfriends (even weeks or months after the act), maybe it might be better to consider having a witness around
(or a cell phone video, like Hofstra...)
Ah leave it to the Freepers to find the ‘holes’ in the ban. ;)
So, where did ya sleep?
I did a walk-in ‘oops’ with my college roomie. She tried so hard to convince me the next day they weren’t doing anything. LOL! They just got divorced, ironically.
This prudishness of public image is far from the truth of what liberal colleges are. The problem is that some room mates are effectively evicted when their room mate shacks up on a daily basis, which leads to legal claims.
The roomate evicted is pressured to get a sex buddy to evict the other in turn.
Sick society there.
ha, i remember that with respect to a vehicle
Not when my husband and I were there...
i didn’t know about the necktie, i lived at home during college. no money for dorm, too busy working to pay for school and pay rent to the folks.
Since I never had to deal with that, just where is the roomy supposed to go?
Nope, and no more threesomes either I guess...
But seriously, isn’t this what the old “tie on the doorknob” is for? Do they really need to make a rule about this?
who is defining “sex”????
Clinton?
I guess this means an increase in menage a trois on campus
I’d expect that the tie runs the risk of advertising the fact to the whole floor, whereas a rubber band discreetly only informs those who come close to the doorknob.
The hallway, the lounge, the library, a friend’s room?
All I know is I was almost raped by a guy in the hall because I was too polite or timid to tell my roommate and her bf to knock it off and go to his room.
It’s a matter of safety. There are campuses that are not safe at night and there are people in the dorms who are not safe. A student’s room should always be a safe refuge.
they will have to address these questions also :)
