Though CEOs of dozens of high profile companies are bullish on their sales prospects in the next six months, the additional sales wont translate into more hiring or spending, a recent survey has found.
According to the survey of CEOs by the Business Roundtable, 51% of respondents see sales increasing in the next six months, but only 13% expect to increase work force and 21% anticipate increased capital spending.

Not to worry. Obama has lot’s and lot’s of “shovel ready” jobs.
I wouldn’t be hiring, either, until I knew for certain what all of the tax changes were going to be and how they would effect my business.
so which is it? recovery or stabilization (at a lower level).
Absolutely.
Just do the math. 7 million jobs lost. So, you have to “create” or hire back 250,000 per month, every month for how many years to just get back to where we were.
The shovel ready jobs aren’t there either. We were told by several contractors that banks are not loaning money unless the contractors put up a 20-25% retainer up front which they don’t get back until after the job is complete. That’s alot of change when you are talking about multi-million dollar projects, some smaller companies just can’t afford to do that. No funding, no work.
The self anointed man of hope, brings no hope at all.
I’m glad I am retired, but I still keep waiting for the other shoe to fall.
I wish Hubby could retire, right now he is an unemployed Commercial Journeyman Electrician, so we are down to one salary...it’s painful, but fortunately our budget has always been based on only one salary, exactly for times like these. There are just no new construction jobs starting in our area. The good news is I just found out today that my company just renewed the contract on my job until 2014. Still going to be a slim Christmas for the grandkids though, they are used to being spoiled ; )
Good for you on that contract.
We would have already failed had we not decided many years ago to live on only one of our incomes. I started a small tractor business on the side to use for our mad money. I never tried to get wealthy with it, but at $75 @ hour, I managed to buy lot’s of toys. ;>)
Presently, we live on my retirement incomes and bank and invest her paycheck. It has worked for us.
I recently started raise chickens just in case. LOL. 26 hens, and they are starting to pump out the eggs. ;>)
Good luck to your husband... it will come.
Thanks. I tried to talk him into going into one of those paid clinical research trials but he just accused me of trying to donate his body to science before he is even deceased. We were both joking of course...gotta maintain the humor or you’ll go insane!
“... gotta maintain the humor or youll go insane!”
My Bride has been laughing at me for over 38 years... it works. ;>)
