Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D.-R.I.) says people will be able to stop doctors from including records of sexually transmitted diseases and abortions in the new national system of Electronic Health Records that was mandated by the stimulus law enacted in February.

The law says that doctors, hospitals and other health care providers must create an Electronic Health Record (EHR) for every American by 2014 or else face deductions in their Medicare payments. The EHRs are supposed to be integrated into a national health care IT system where health-care providers nationwide as well as the government would have the ability to access them when authorized.

“This is totally going to be up to the individual,” Kennedy told CNSNews.com when specifically asked if these EHRs would include any STDs or abortions in a person's medical history.

Was mandated electronic health records something we missed when Obambi was talking about the stimulus?

I knew he wanted to do this but I didn't know he did it.

"People Can Opt Out of Listing STDs"

That, of course, is an exceptional relief to the Kennedy and Clinton families.

I have a genetic disorder is that not an STD? I mean if you really think about it all inherited disorders are STDs.

I believe, and I could be wrong, but the stimulus bill included the development of a national computer network that would provide your health records to doctors and hospitals across the country.

The missing info will be supplanted by information such as political affiliations, and religion.

I thought health departments were required to be notified of Syphlis and Clapp so they could notify those effected by the donor.

The medical community should use the name Kennedy for a disease... a sexually transmitted disease like gonorrhea or chlamydia.

Something like... Use a condom to prevent Kennedy or... or a scenario like...

Doctor, what is it?

Answer: You've contracted a bad case of Kennedy... it's extremely contagious, You need a shot of Penicillin immediately.

Yes— it’s in the stimulus package from early this year. Electronic Med Records _and_ the panels to decide on life and death.

They have no right to any of our health care records that we paid for with our own money or private insurance. I asked my doctor, he said no way in hell is he going to comply with that sh*t.

I just had my “DUH!” moment over this.

Roe v. Wade ruled that abortion is covered under an umbrella of PRIVACY into which THE GOVERNMENT CANNOT INTRUDE!

Therefore, if they don’t make this exception, they set their precious Electronic Medical Records on a collision course with Roe v. Wade in the court system. Can’t have that if you’re a liberal now....

I don’t think so either. This will be the test for me. If American’s allow this, the country is lost and there will be no getting it back. Not in our lifetime anyway. If they go along with this, they will go along with anything.
I refuse to live under a dictatorship and that is what it will be. So sadly, we will be out of here. But we are ok with that. We will enjoy our vacation home outside the US and it will become out permanent home. It will save us a ton of money, the COL is more than half of what it is here. In a way, the idea is sort of exciting. It’s very peaceful, politics isn’t their life there. They just enjoy life and that’s something many haven’t done here for a long time.
