Ending some nine months of closed-door deliberations, Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and John Kerry (D-Mass.) will release global warming legislation Wednesday that they hope will be the vehicle for broader Senate negotiations and an eventual conference with the House.
The bill's authors said last week that they expect to start hearings early next month on the bill, with a markup in Boxer's Environment and Public Works Committee to follow soon thereafter. They also acknowledged that their legislation is just a "starting point" in a bid to win over moderate and conservative Democrats, as well as Republicans.
"I hope what we've done is constructive and well-received," Kerry, the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, said Thursday. "I have no pretensions, and neither does Barbara, that this will be the final product. It is a starting point, a commitment, full-fledged, across party lines to do what we need to do to protect the planet for the next century."

Kerry’s in the tank for the Northeast and Maritimes Pipeline. This is also known as The Algonquin Pipeline. It’s a Natural Gas transmission system from Canada.
You and me both. There will be a point at which Atlas will shrug for each of us. To each it’ll be an individual decision. I know what my criteria are. Everyone else will have to decide similarly. When we all decide, the financing for the communist takeover goes poof.
They probably assigned these 2 this garbage for the very reason that they are the biggest underachievers in the Senate (now that 0 is gone from there), and have nothing else to do anyway. With support for AGW slipping all the time, it’ll be almost impossible to persuade red state Dems to vote for this swill within 12 months of an election. So these fools, in the end, just like bratty kids confined to their rooms, will do no harm.
bttt
Take what these maroons say to heart and people will soon be promoting death and the lack of birth of humans.
So, ol’ Lurch doesn’t know what cap and trade means? Perhaps the citizens of the People’s Republic of Taxachusetts should explain it to him the next time he’s up for re-election...
It is a starting point, a commitment, full-fledged, across party lines to do what we need to do to protect the planet for the next century. To protect the planet, we'd need to rid it of Moslems and Democrats.
I wonder if anyone will be brave enough to state that temps are going down not up
Look for the extremely cold weather the day they do this, if not an ice storm or a blizzard. All ‘nonessential’ personnel will be told to stay home, which means that there will be perfect attendance,
Bush threw the Republican Congress away for nothing.
this is what you get.
Are you spamming the sidebar again?? :)
CO2 as a pollutant. Ugh.
I'll see your gas guzzler and raise you two cow farts.

Re: per (#59),
per, I've read the paper very carefully and I don't see any reason why the Schweingruber data should not be incorporated into the Yamal data set. It is squarely within the geographic specification of the Hantemirov and Shiyatov study and is the correct species. The Yamal data set is far smaller than the other data sets as well in the modern portion. In addition to the AVam-Taymir merger, also note the Tornetrask-Finland merger in the third Briffa et al 2008 data set.
Also keep in mind the implausibly small size of the current portion of the Yamal archive. It would be one thing if they had only sampled 10 trees and this is what they got. But they selected 10 trees out of a larger population. Because the selection yields such different results from a nearby population sample, there is a compelling prima facie argument that they've made biased picks. This is rebuttable. I would welcome hearing the argument on the other side. I've notified one dendro of the issue and requested him to assist in the interpretation of the new data (but am not very hopeful that he will speak up.)

With Health Care being debated behind closed doors and now this Climate Bill (Is this the Senate version of Cap & Tax or its own socialist liberal mess?). It looks like the Dems can at least try to overwhelm the Senate and get several balls rolling in the game. Just like some pinball machines, when it puts multiple balls into play the scores can really fly high, but it's easy to lose track of them.
Besides constant pressure and support to the Blue Dog Dems that are on the fence. I think more needs to be done. I don't see another March on DC possible on short notice. I guess we can only hope for more news-worthy bombshells that expose them to the whole nation for what they are.
Glenn Beck, FOX NEWS, Breitbart and others please keep it up. My fellow Americans please keep up the pressure!
Of all the crazy Bills that they want to pass and have Obama sign into law. The scariest is the Health Care Reform w/ Single Payer. If that passes I do not think the damage can be undone. Climate Bills and Cap & Tax Bills IMHO can and will be easy fodder for repeal.
