BREAKING: Bank of America "Suspends ACORN Commitments" (largest corp. patron)

Bank of America has suspended its current commitments to ACORN Housing, an affiliate of Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), a scandal-hit U.S. liberal grassroots group, the Wall Street Journal said on Monday.

The banking company "will not enter into any further agreements with ACORN or any of its affiliates," pending assessments of the organization's operations, the paper quoted a Bank of America spokesman as saying.

My senator (Shelby) sent me a letter informing me that ACORN had changed their name to COI.

ACORN is Now Called COI
(Community Organizations International)

This is nice and “in your face” because B of A was a shakedown target of ACORN to begin with. I’ll bet they’re enjoying this.

B of A is probably hoping to avoid a suit from ACORN or any negative fall-out from their decision.

Bank of America was one of the largest, if not the largest, swine at the TARP trough. I used to have B of A credit cards and got rid of them all when they started playing "Gotcha" games like dividing acocunts so they could collect two $39 late fees if payments were even one day late in addition to jacking up interest rates to 30%.

They are a low-down sleezy bunch when it comes to how they treat their own customers. But they had plenty of money to give to ACORN or finance homes for illegal aliens.

That’s why I’m all for trust but verify. BofA can always restore the funding later, after the heat dies down. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.
