WHEN the youths saw Murray Pott's sister filming them as they hit the Zimbabwean farmer with sticks, they smashed the kitchen window to try to get to her too. Mr Pott, who is of Scottish descent, was left with broken ribs and head injuries after a mob attacked him on his farm in Chinhoyi, central Zimbabwe last week.
The incident shows how terrifying life has become for the country's last white farmers seven months into the power-sharing agreement between president Robert Mugabe and former opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai that was widely expected to end land invasions.
"I was attacked in my mother's yard by 13 people," Mr Pott told The Scotsman. "I was hit 28 times with sticks."
Blood streaming down his face, the father of two was rushed to a government hospital. Mr Pott, who grew tobacco, soyabeans, potatoes and desperately-needed maize on his Hilltop Farm, has kidney problems because of his injuries.
lol...yep.
Thirteen to one? Sounds like an American schoolbus.
That is why the general population should be armed...
"It's the youths that have always been used. They've been used right through the elections. They are just Mugabe's brownshirts,"
Obama Youth Corp.
Heavily armed.
Charter office of ACORN.
Doesn't matter what color the victim is either. All they have to be is different. Different tribe, different hair, different religion.
Actually, A large part of south Africa around Johannesburg never had a black population until AFTER The white settlers inhabited the place.
There was an uproar from black racists (many weren't even african) in Canada a couple weeks ago over a White south African from Johannesburg being granted refugee status, because he was fearfull of persecution by the blacks if he was sent back to south Africa.
Clearly, blacks think only blacks are allowed to claim refugee status from Africa, not whites. Remember, this is in Canada, where there isn't a memory of slavery to blame reverse racism on.
Makes you wonder how long before Ubama attempts to sieze white-owned farms..
That’s a perfect, and scary example of how racial hatred is used to advance a political movement. Robert Mugabe did it in Zimbabwe, and Ayers and Obama, along with haters like Rev. Wright, exploit sorry losers like the black power group, which is infested with Arab/Ethiopian muslims exploiting racial hatred to further Islam by destroying freedom in America.
It's already started, my friend...in California's Central Valley.
He's a moral beacon, you see.
Our National Conscience.
Or something...
President Barack Obama is promising $73 Million in U.S. aid to the people of Zimbabwe. The president made the pledge Friday, after meeting with Zimbabwe's Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai in the Oval Office.
In 2008, USAID provided nearly $176 million (To Zimbabwe.) in food assistance and more than $7 million for programs related to agriculture and food security, shelter, livelihoods, relief commodities, humanitarian coordination and information management, water, sanitation, and hygiene.
Already in the pipeline...
40,000 farmers and workers unemployed in the (formerly) fertile central valley in CA
Feds shut off the water because of the snail darter minnow fish or somesuch
Who you think is going to use some of that unused TARP money to scoop up all that prime acerage....
That is a huge story that was completely ignored during the whole apartheid dust-up; the Boers had actually settled in an uninhabited region in S. Africa. When drought/famine struck in central Africa, there was a migration (Bantu migration?) south along the eastern side of southern Africa. This wasn’t a story of people jumping the fence as in the case of Mexico; these blacks traveled south through what today consists of several countries, bringing them into contact with the Boers. However, as it reduced the blacks from victims to invaders, the story was ignored...
You weren’t in Milwaukee in 1967-68 when ordinary men stood on the bridges leading to their communities with rifles, shotguns and pistols, daring the rioters to cross over.
Too true; when they change the name of your country to Mumbojumboland, you really do have to go. I understand what they accomplished there, but it is over.
I remember that picture.
