Democratic gym patron declares war on Fox News
Baltimore Sunpapers ^ | 25 Sept 2009 | Larry Carson

Ann Geddes doesn't want a "fair and balanced" workout. But the 49-year-old worker for a nonprofit agency is having no luck getting the channel changed in front of her favorite rowing machine at a Columbia gym.

The television happens to be tuned permanently to Fox News. Geddes, a liberal Democrat and former legislative aide to a Howard County delegate, said she can't stomach the conservative lineup that appears nightly as she gets her exercise. Even though the sound is off, the words scrolling across the bottom of the screen infuriate her.

Hey, here’s an idea, change gyms.

Libtards amuse me, everyone must think their way or else, but they are “liberated” and “open”... its complete crock.

They are the most small and closed minded people I ever meet.

Yup...we live in Columbia. We like it overall from a “livability” standpoint, but yes, the smug liberalism is tiresome.

RE :”Yup...we live in Columbia. We like it overall from a “livability” standpoint, but yes, the smug liberalism is tiresome.”

How about the Columbia association tax , and the Section 8 housing?? Howard County is already a very high tax county.

Good!now the witch knows what it’s like for us conservatives who are forced to watch the crap on CNN during the day.

CNN is not even programed into my home TV.

Yes...that too.

I discovered after buying our house that it seems over half of our neighbors in appear to be in subsidized housing.

Not surprisingly, our elementary school has the worst reputation of any in Howard Cty...

3 screens out of 43 is too many for the not-so-free speech liberals?

"The Fox screen is directly in front of the rowing machine Geddes prefers, though a second one two feet away faces a screen showing NBC. Others broadcast local stations, CNN, ESPN, MSNBC, the Food Network, Discovery Channel and HGTV. "

Geddes said she tried one more gambit late last week: paying $30 a month more to upgrade her membership to the private workout rooms with the "fluffier towels and ice water with lemon," and nicer machines and furniture. But she quickly learned that's not the answer. Those rooms don't have the rowing machines she likes.

"My next battle is to put rowing machines in there," she said with a laugh".....

This 49 yr old sanctimonious "nonprofit" employee - who indulged herself in an extra $30 a month for fluffy towels and lemoned ice water during her exercise sessions (!) just became a poster child for liberal narcissism.

No doubt she is a big fan of obamcare because "we" all have a social responsibility to the underprivileged.

I am tempted to switch doctors because he runs 24/7’s CNN. Two TVs and you can’t get away from it (and the volume is above ignore).

OMG! My husband’s club.

He is forced to watch CNN at his favorite machine, so we’re even.

Oh, and note the typical “tolerant”, “freedom-loving” (only of sex and killing babies and seniors) liberal who wants to force HER single opinion on the club and impede THEIR liberties.

“staring at Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity against her will.”

How long is this woman in the same gym at the same machine?!?!?

She’d be kicked out for hogging the same machine! :-D

You don’t know Kolumbia.

I was raised here (not Columbia proper, but literally right next to it, same neighborhood). Lived in Kolumbia proper for a few years.

It’s not bad except for the mindset about “tolerance” - and thus, putting the projects next to the single-family homes. Guess what happens?

Here’s something really spooky about Kolumbia:

They WORSHIP the “founder”, James Rouse. Geesh, it’s disgusting enough outside the borders, but when you’re in and you actually find out more through the local paper - OMG! Not only naming everything for them, but people in the papers actually write in saying stuff like “what would Rouse want?”

They are sick!

This is Kolumbia.

She gets the privilege of a) paying taxes that support the Supreme Court and b) paying extra to actually “join”.

Doesn’t make sense to me that a giant-HOA-owned “public” club makes residents pay extra to join.

But I guess 1 feels 1 might as well get SOME use out of that tax-hole.

You want torture?

Try waiting in the hospital lounge for your dad to get out of radiation while the TV is stuck on the network showing “THE VIEW”.

Or worse, your MIL taping and watching every “THE VIEW” while you have to stomach that “Joy” Behar and the liberal harpies for hours.

That is the ONLY Anne Geddes I knew, but she isn’t even American. Knew I recognized the name and thought of the babies.

But being from and living here, I was afraid we might actually know this woman. Don’t think so.

She should lighten up. At my gym, numerous TVs are turned to local news or ABCNNBCBS, or there's some doom-and-gloom thing on the History Channel about the supposed effects of Global WarmingTM, but I don't get steamed about it.

Maryland "Freak State" PING!
