MILWAUKEE - Police are spending Friday morning trying to find a suspect involved in a robbery that ended with gunfire.
Witnesses say someone on a bicycle pulled out a gun and shot a 16-year-old boy in the head.
The shooting happened at the corner of North 63rd Street and West Villard Avenue on Thursday night.
The shooter left the scene.
Police later found out the victim had a pellet gun and was trying to rob the man on the bicycle when the victim was shot.
His condition was unknown as of early Friday morning.
It took me a while to figure out the “suspect” was the victim of the robbery attempt.
Don’t bring a pellet gun to a gun fight.
It is disturbing that the robbery victim/shooter didn’t call the police after getting away from the robbery. I imagine that will make things more difficult for him.
Seems the writer doesn’t understand the meaning of the word “victim”.
He was in fact the assailant!
I saw the whole thing. He was a tall transvestite with a long beard.
...no, he was a short red-head with a mustache...
...no, he was a black man with a ponytail...
...no, I meant, SHE was a brunette...
You’ll shoot your eye out, kid.
Well, a valuable lesson learned - some parts of the world still believe in rehabilitating criminals with bullets or ropes.
Another case for concealed carry..legal or otherwise!
“His condition was unknown as of early Friday morning.”
If he was shot in the head is condition is at best, poor.
Strange headline. Was the shooter already shooting before the robbery? Not a good idea to rob a shooter in any event.
This young criminal’s head may not have contained any vital organs.

Most times I read stories like this, it brings joy to my heart that an innocent civilian exercised his 2nd Amendment right and defended himself from a low-life. But in this story the person on the bike was in all likelihood a low life himself. He’s riding on a bicycle carrying a gun illegaly. He was probably looking for a victim himself. That’s why he didn’t wait around for the cops. Ef them both.
To a kid like that, his head probably contained his colon, and the colon is a vital organ.
The robber had a gun, they ALWAYS should be shot dead.
This is Milwaukee. I am not sure what their gun laws are but I would bet they are pretty draconian. This guy may have not had a permit to carry, the self defense laws in Milwaukee may not allow you to defend yourself unless you are in your home. There are lots of reasons he may have chosen to run instead of stay and talk to the police, and they may not be nefarious reasons. The laws that a lot of cities and states have in affect in regards to firearms and self defense are the reason lots of people simply walk away after a shooting like this.
And you know this how? I read the same story as you did and it said nothing about the person on the bike carrying illegally or that he had a criminal past.
Couldn’t agree more (you might have read my sentence backward). The shooter/bicyclist/robberyvictim put one in the robber’s head. Looks like he did the best he could to qualify the robber for the darwin award. :-)

No, I do not of course, know this for a fact. But that’s what the circumstances say, and in most ‘hoods’ if you’re carrying a gun on a bike, you’re looking to do something then get away quick. This predator on a bike just happened to come across another predator...again, ef them both.
“Dont bring a pellet gun to a gun fight.”
What if its a pellet gun fight?
>>I imagine that will make things more difficult for him.<<
Assuming they find out who it is.
While bicycle commuting about “X” years ago, I was hit by a car that tried to take a right in front of me. I didn’t go down but I badly damaged his car. It was a really beautiful Porsche. I didn’t even stop, strictly to avoid the hassle.
It is not a risk in my case, but, loose lips sink ships.
