This conference is part of the Center's mission of helping to create a more engaged civil society, working towards social change, fostering coalitions between theorists and activists, and combating anti-intellectualism in contemporary culture. All good except ‘distinguished’, which is a word with a positive connotation - no such thing as a distinguished professor of socialist REVOLUTIONARY ideology in my book.

I guess it’s kind of like using remarkable, a remarkable terrorist; or distinction, a terrorist with distinction from the run of the mill terrorist?
