NEW YORK, Sept. 23 (AP) - (Kyodo)U.S. President Barack Obama said Wednesday he and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev agreed on the need for fresh sanctions on Iran if Teheran does not accept proposals to end a dispute over its nuclear program.
The agreement reached at a bilateral summit in New York was followed by a meeting of foreign ministers from the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council -- the United States, Russia, Britain, France and China -- plus Germany on the same issue.
"Iran has been violating too many of its international commitments," Obama said after meeting Medvedev on the fringes of U.N. gatherings.

Maybe we got something for ending our missile shield in Europe. Hopefully it is worth it.
getting mighty cozy with them there Russians, you SOB Commie.
I guess they probably agreed that there will be no further shipments of bacon and ham until Iran ceases its production of nuclear materials for war use.
Nonsense. Hussein is being played. Carter II.
Meanwhile the Russians have supplied nuclear fuel rods and are putting the final touches on Iran's first ever nuclear power plant - start-up planned for early 2010
This will give Iran the opportunity to reprocess spent fuel rods into plutonium for weapons (i.e. just as North Korea did from the plant that Clinton provided them)
Only is this case with a larger plant Iran can obtain enough plutonium for 10 to 12 weapons per year
All I am saying is I am hoping we got something out of it. Hopefully the Russian Federation actually does something. I’m not that hopeful, but seeing how we’ve given up our missile shield, we better have gotten something out of it.
The devil will be in the details as is usual.
Certainly we all hope you are correct

I don’t even think I am correct, I’m hoping, LOL.
I wonder what kinds of sanctions will be levied on the United States by Obama and Medvedev?
