Confirming the literary detective work of WND columnist Jack Cashill prior to the 2008 election, author Christopher Andersen says in a newly released book that former domestic terrorist William Ayers helped Barack Obama write the president's highly acclaimed memoir "Dreams from My Father."

There is a new campaign ad everyday

It would be very difficult using the new guidelines:
House guidelines for presidential put-downs

Likewise, it has been held that a member could not:
• call the president a “liar.”
• call the president a “hypocrite.”
• describe the president’s veto of a bill as “cowardly.”
• charge that the president has been “intellectually dishonest.”
• refer to the president as “giving aid and comfort to the enemy.”
• refer to alleged “sexual misconduct on the president’s part.”

I think Ayers and 0 go way back as comrades...I believe he
really is the ONE that the leftist, communist, has groomed
for a long time...What a perfect candidate for them..A black man with a silver tongue. One that would organize the youth on campuses and mesmerize them as he was their hope of a future.
One that would be hard to question because of his skin color.

Thanks for the ping.

Andersen, in “Barack and Michelle: Portrait of a Marriage,” writes that Obama was faced with a deadline with the Time Books division of Random House to submit his manuscript after already having canceled a contract with Simon & Schuster. Confronted with the threat of a second failure, his wife, Michelle, suggested he seek the help of “his friend and Hyde Park neighbor Bill Ayers.”

(snip)

Andersen appeared hesitant to concur, but conceded, “Well, you know, I think, well, let’s face it, during that campaign I think he was doing some backpedaling, I’ll be honest. And I think that, you know, Michelle probably recommended that he not emphasize the relationship with Ayers.”

It becomes more clear, 0bama is the puppet of many, including MO(Jarrett). From the Harvard Law Review to his relocating to Chicago, and marriage to MO, all seem collaborated and contrived, IMO.

Can the ball-less wonders of the GOP find some testosterone?

No, I'm pretty sure they were drained of that nasty stuff during the orgies after the coronation of the usurper.

The rank and file isn’t much better, making a three headed RINO the “only electable” candidates in 2008. Thank God for patriots like Cashill.

I hope they do run with it and it needs to be passed around.

It also gives a few more clues into the power structure, which should not be overlooked.

I wonder how well Ayers knows Dr. Khalid al-Mansour. I’m guessing they know each other very well.

News on Ayers circa 1995.

(no link)

THE WHOLE WEB IS WATCHING - POLITICAL ACTIVISTS PROTEST VIA INTERNET
Chicago Tribune - Tuesday, August 27, 1996
Author: James Coates, Tribune Computer Writer.
Bernardine Dohrn and William Ayers took to the streets 28 years ago to protest what they considered the injustices in the world, especially the war in Vietnam.

The former leaders of the Weather Underground still are fighting injustice, but—adapting to the changing landscape of American politics—their current arena is the World Wide Web

After Dohrn, who wound up on the FBI’s Most Wanted List, and Ayers resolved their legal woes, they wound up, together, in the Chicago area.

They work in social programs—she at Northwestern University and he at the University of Illinois at Chicago—and today enjoy the status of folk heroes in leftist circles. And they have discovered the Internet as a medium for social change.

The Web allows 1996 activists to push their ideas without getting their heads bloodied as they did in 1968, said Henry DeZutter, a long-time Chicago political activist and one of a new breed of cyberspace-oriented activists.

This time, the protesters’ points can be made with “a few clicks of a personal computer’s mouse rather than a few raps of a cop’s club,” said DeZutter, whose own group, The Community News Project of Chicago, is making heavy use of the Internet for the Democratic National Convention at http://www.mcs.net/ commnews/.

Tuesday night, Dohrn and Ayers will open their home in Hyde Park to debut an ideologically oriented site on the World Wide Web, where the whole skein of 1996’s protest movements are within the click of a computer mouse for all who call it up at http://www.democrats.com.

The invitation reads “The Progressive Wing of the Democratic Party hasn’t gone underground. . . . We’re on the Internet!”

Dohrn and Ayers did not respond to requests to discuss the Web site plans, which also involve more mainstream Democrats, including David Lytel, who set up President Clinton’s Web site at http://www.whitehouse.gov.

“There is a lot of room for different ideas in progressive politics, and we’re proud to be associated with Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers ,” said Lytel.

Lytel’s White House site is a huge repository of information about the Clinton administration, ranging from sound files of the family cat’s meow to the full text of treaties and bills the president has signed into law.

With Bill and Hillary Clinton joining activists such as Dohrn and Ayers on the Web, the Internet covers the American political spectrum as the Democrats gather on the West Side.

This content includes everything from tasteless taunts to carefully crafted arguments.

Among the most information-packed is a site directed at delegates and reporters posted by DeZutter’s Community News Project, which is funded in part by the MacArthur Foundation.

Many of the most confrontational of the Web sites are linked to a Web page at http://www.cs.uchicago.edu/cpsr/ccia/ sponsored by the Chicago Coalition for Information Access.

This site offers links to radical protest tips and resources, including a list of who plans to protest what and where, and information about how protest organizers can find legal help from the National Lawyers Guild in the event of arrests

WEATHERING CHANGE - ‘60S REVOLUTIONARY BILL AYERS SAYS HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A TEACHER, BUT HE NO LONGER USES BOMBS AS STUDY AIDS
Chicago Tribune - Thursday, July 8, 1993
Author: Jon Anderson.
(snip)

“Fight to define yourselves,” Ayers urged the crowd. “Stand up for yourselves. Make your own decisions. Decide who and what you will believe in. Make thoughtful and careful choices. Take risks on behalf of your beliefs.

“The world you inherit is in desperate need of change,” he said. “It is racked by violence and war, divided by racism, by economic division, by sexism, by crippling hierarchies of privilege and oppression.

“These are not God-given institutions. They were created by people. People can destruct them. People can reconstruct them. You can challenge this, and more, if you have the collective will and imagination to do it. Take up the real work of the world, with hope and courage. Make a difference-in our time.”

The words were politely received.

“Thank you, Dr. William Ayers , of the University of Illinois, for that lovely speech,” said assistant principal Pauline Tarvardian, her voice bouncing off the cement walls of the football stadium stands of the North Side school.

To Ayers , 47, they were the themes he has always offered, as a radical, a professor and a father. He started teaching in an alternative school in Ann Arbor, Mich., in 1965. He was 20.

“I found out I’m at my best with kids,” he said later, in a long talk at his favorite hangout, Jamoch’s Caffe, at 1066 W. Taylor St. Has he always, in a way, been a teacher? “Exactly,” he said. “That’s how I always think of myself.”

His purpose in agreeing to an interview was to discuss his new book, “To Teach: The Journey of a Teacher” (Teachers College Press). But as Ayers admits, it is hard to separate his evolving philosophy, his home life and his teaching, which, in recent years, has drawn considerable plaudits.

“He has gone from an exotic position to serious thinking,” says political consultant and writer Don Rose. “He’s done what a lot of New Left guys have done, gone into academia where you share your thinking, but don’t do a lot of organizing.”

Ayers agrees. “I’m an unreconstructed leftie,” he says. “In the ‘60s and ‘70s, there was clarity about one issue, Vietnam, and the resistance it called for. Problems are less clear now, but my views remain the same.”

It has been quite a journey for Bill Ayers , who is muscular, with curly blond hair, and an almost perpetual smile. He radiates the enthusiasm, but not the narrow interests, of a cheerleader. At meetings, and he goes to a great many these days, pushing for school reform, he usually shows up wearing shorts, looking as if he were about to go hiking in the Swiss Alps.

“Bill has tremendous energy,” says Alex Polikoff, head of Business & Professional People for the Public Interest, which Ayers is helping with an initiative now gaining momentum among teachers and principals that would break large, unwieldy high schools into smaller, more individualized units. “Not only does he have a wonderful sense of how to approach children, but he has a healthy skepticism for magic solutions.”

(snip)

Teaching on the run

They were on the run for 11 years, mostly in New York. They lived, much of the time, in a two-bedroom, $246-a-month apartment, on the top floor of a five-story walkup at 520 W. 123rd St. She worked at an infants’ clothing store and as a part-time waitress. He was a teacher at B.J.’s Kids, a day-care center.

“He was really good with kids,” one parent, Suzanne Valle, told a Tribune reporter after the pair surfaced. “He would change diapers, take them for walks in the park, and teach them songs like `Farmer in the Dell’ and `Jingle Bells.’ He had lots of patience.”

Ayers and Dohrn later married and had two children, delivered at home. After each birth, they planted a tree in a park and ingested special foods, notably ginger tea, to replenish lost body heat.

In November 1980, they turned themselves in. Over the years, most of the charges, from mob action to bombing conspiracy, had been dropped, or downgraded. Dohrn wound up with a $1,500 fine and three years’ probation; Ayers , with nothing.

Although there have been some legal hassles since, Dohrn, who graduated from the University of Chicago Law School, has built a career with law-oriented organizations, though she has not been able to find a bar association willing to admit her.

These days, in a project with Northwestern University’s law school, she is working to reform Chicago’s juvenile courts. Ayers , meanwhile, has worked his way up the academic ladder, to the rung of associate professor of education at UIC.

Debunking the myths

In his book, Ayers addresses myths of teaching, among them, that students today are different.

“Every generation of adults,” he writes, “tells of a golden age of teaching or parenting when youngsters were well-behaved and capable. Today, it’s `cocaine babies’ or `households headed by women.’ Once, it was `culture of poverty’ or `cultural deprivation.’ Or, `immigrants who didn’t care about their children.’ “ In fact, he argues, “kids come to school with a range of difficult backgrounds and troubling experiences.”

“Teaching begins in challenge and is never far from mystery,” he goes on. “We want not to pacify children, but to make them active constructors of their own worlds.” For starters, he suggests, teachers should stop, look and listen. Learning, a process of discovery, is not what he calls the “orderly and scripted conveyance of information.” That, he says, is clerking.

Ayers makes extensive classroom notes, especially of those children who are “unseen, invisible or not cared for.” He asks students to ponder their own agendas (”What do you want to do this year?”). Struggling to reach a 13-year-old that he spotted skateboarding around drain pipes at a construction site, Ayers had the boy set up a skateboard repair center before school on Fridays.

“For him,” Ayers said, “finding out he could repair skateboards was a greater motivator than a Michael Jordan poster saying, `Stay in school.’ “

Some wish he’d done that himself instead of undertaking more active adventures.

Several years ago, for an article in Seven Days magazine, writer Rose obtained FBI reports on Ayers during his fugitive days. They included an interview with his father, whose theme with federal agents, Rose recalled, “was along the lines of `I probably didn’t take him camping enough.’ “

“It’s funny,” Ayers said. “When we came out of hiding, the first thing my father said to me was, `Your hair’s a bit long.’ And the first thing that Bernardine’s mother asked her was, `Are you married?’ “

These days, Ayers adds, he gets along with his family just fine, a relationship strengthened by the presence of their children Zayd, 16, and Malik, 13; and by Chesa Boudin, 12, whom they are raising. He is the son of Katherine Boudin, another Weather Underground member, now in prison after a 1981 robbery of a Brink’s truck in Nyack, N.Y., during which two police officers and a guard were shot to death.

Ayers and his wife have also made up with an old antagonist, columnist Mike Royko, whom they met recently at a party at the Old Town School of Folk Music celebrating the birthday of Studs Terkel, in whose book “Hard Times” Ayers appears under the pseudonym Peter Baird.

” Ayers introduced himself,” Royko said in an interview, “and I quickly looked to see if he was carrying a bottle with a little rag hanging out of it.” Ayers wasn’t, and called over his wife. “She might be offended by this,” Royko went on, “but when she walked over, in designer jeans and spike heels, I thought, `Wow, she’s a good-looking chick!’ Anyway, she was pleasant.”

As for Bill Ayers , “he’s being very nice these days,” Royko said. “I think he’s going after tenure.”

Obama doesn’t have the skills or discipline to do the job, and he hasn’t lived long enough to merit an autobiography, not even a make believe one.

How many of the other stories we've heard about him are also true?
