In declaring that it is time for Middle East peace "without preconditions," President Obama used his speech to the U.N. General Assembly Wednesday to fire a warning at Israel that "America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements."
Obama's stark declaration, which drew applause, was coupled with a call for Palestinians to end their "incitement of Israel."
But it was the use of the U.N. forum to carry the settlement message to Israel that drew the most enthusiastic response on the floor -- and incredulous reaction outside its walls.
Obama just put Israel "on the chopping block," said former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton.
Obama said he met Tuesday with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was not in attendance at the speech, and agreed that the two have made some progress in both strengthening security and facilitating freedom of movement, which have allowed the economy in the West Bank to grow.
But more progress is needed, he said.

I’m beginning to question the legitimacy of the Obama presidency.
FYBO!!
“Good grief. Almost 75% of American Jews voted for him”
Instead of fighting Erkel, we have one hell of an opportunity to use his strength with the US Jewish vote and turn it to our advantage by supporting his statement. The conservative proclamation should read that as we have long been the lone champions of the State of Israel and seeing how 99% of the US Jewish voters supported Erkel, we will give our full weight and influence behind Erkel’s Israeli policy.
If the Republicans had the gonads to announce this, we will have Jews for Republicans clubs spring up in every synagogue and schvitz across the country.
That will be God's job. In Zechariah 14 all nations (that would include the US) will gather AGAINST Israel and then God will fight against those nations that fought against Israel (that would also appear to include the US).
Obama has exercised his constitutional authority to speak for America on foreign policy issues. America is now officially an enemy of Israel.
Unfortunately (and disappointingly) that's all "Bibi" has been doing for many months ... talking rather than acting. Time is short for our Israeli friends before they have a madman with nuclear weapons within striking distance of their nation that he promises to destroy.
One thing for sure: Obama is not voting "present" on this one. He's squarely against Israel.
Don’t look now....but I think he’s just gettin started.
“we will give our full weight and influence behind Erkels Israeli policy.”
they did...remember HW Bush/Baker?
“I personally know more pro-Israel Christians than pro-Israel Jews. It is weird.”
Me too. You will find more advocates for Israel in conservative Christian churches than you will in liberal Jewish synagogues.
BO is trashing our country and its history to the UN in order to elevate himself above the community of illiterates he so cunningly organized. The more this guy talks and denigrates our country, its citizens, its accomplishments, and our allies, the better Bush looks. In fact, I never thought I would say it, but even Hillary looks good next to this disgusting excuse for an American of any sort.
Re: Obama is going to set himself up for life
I think you’re right. There is no reason to be cautious so as to preserve a 2nd term option if Zero thinks he will be a dictator in less than 4 years.
On the Israel front, notice that Zero ASKS NOTHING of Palestine ... no demands for Jewish recognition; nothing. I noticed the other day in the Jpost that Zero has a positive rating among Jews in Israel of only 6%.
Obama could be impeached.
The US jews voted to stab Israel in the back for good.
You are not alone in that sentiment. The question is, how many more feel that way? And would it be enough?
We are spiraling down into the abyss under this Demon in DemocRat’s clothing. If it isn’t stopped soon (now) it will be too late.
I wish I was at the U.N. today... for the sole purpose of walking out on him.
Why do you think Obama said, “America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements.” Of course, its more Obama who really opposes the new settlements, not America. Obama, President of the World and now, anti-Semite to boot.
WTF???
From the JP:
“Netanyahu satisfied with Obama’s UN speech”

“they did...remember HW Bush/Baker”
I stand corrected.
Think I’ve read about that somewhere. Oh, wait...
I read somewhere that a senior Israeli official tends to refer to El Presidente as "that Arab" from time to time.
Given El Presidente's continuous support for islamic terrorism and simultaneous threats to the National Security of freedom loving people everywhere, I really don't wonder why an Israeli would refer to him like that.
Well, DUH!!
He's a "closet Muslim" after all!
It's all part of his Muslim and socialist upbringing.
