In her first paid public speech outside of North America, the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate said Washington is the problem, not the solution.
"We got into this mess because of government interference in the first place," Palin said Wednesday at a conference sponsored by investment firm CLSA Asia Pacific Markets. "We're not interested in government fixes, we're interested in freedom."
Palin also stressed the importance of the global fight against terrorism and of enlisting the help of China, which "rightfully makes a lot of people nervous."
Palin didn't refer to President Obama by name, but "utopian sounding" campaign promises have not materialized. She blamed the financial crisis on the Federal Reserve's low interest rate policy of previous years. Tax cuts and elimination of the capital gains and estate tax would allow the world to "watch the U.S. economy roar back to life," Palin said.

Tax cuts and elimination of the capital gains and estate tax would allow the world to "watch the U.S. economy roar back to life," Palin said.
I'm been pushing for a MASSIVE overhaul of our taxation system to encourage personal savings and capital investment staying in the USA. We now have somewhere between US$14 to US$19 TRILLION out of the US financial system through offshoring of assets via tax loopholes and participating in the underground economy for income tax avoidance reasons; changing the tax laws as I suggested would turn the US economy around faster than an F-22A Raptor doing a 9-G turn.
Give em hell, Sarah.
Hmmmm the Force is strong with this one....
This is darn close to a flat tax without saying it by name. She has been either self schooled or briefed on China, Singapore ,and Taiwan's tax structures, many of which may have been in her audience.
The more I read about this, she reminds me of Thatcher coming back from seeing Gorbi, She is saying we can do business.
Neil Boortz'es head will explode, but that is his problem.....
Palin didn't refer to President Obama by name
Well lookie at this NYT article:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2346270/posts
Mr. Goodé, an African-American who said he did some campaign polling for President Obama, said Mrs. Palin mentioned President Obama three times on Wednesday.
And there was nothing derogatory in it, no sleight of hand, and believe me, I was listening for that, he said, adding that Mrs. Palin referred to Mr. Obama as our president, with the emphasis on our.
Gotta love that MSM accuracy.
Now, just listen to the SRM and the RATS scream about leaving politics at the water’s edge.
Not inconsistent. “our president” said three times is an unnamed reference to Obama.
Can’t wait to hear/see the leaked clips. You know someone recorded via phone.
Well, Pravda got it right too.

I’m a big Sarah fan also, but before the election, she and McLame were blaming Wall Street for the financial mess.
see: http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2008/09/palin_on_the_economic_crisis_c.html
In a September 17, 2008 interview with Sean Hannity, she said: “I think the corruption on Wall Street, that’s to blame.”
I think that line of attack was a big mistake.
Like your metaphor, Ray, about how fast the economy would turn around. I agree 100%. With the current crowd of expropriators, cash that is out of the country will stay there and what is here will stay largely on the sidelines, or converted into another exchange medium and buried in the yard, per Acorn specifics, lol.
Is this the first time she has attributed the Fed with the financial meltdown?
We certainly cannot omit Feddie/Fannie and their defenders (bubba xlinton, Bawney Fwanks and Mad Maxine Waters).
It is AFAIK.
Ron Paul mentioned it as something important that she should bring up.
Nice to see them on the same page, this will help keep the Tea Party movement focused.
Both DC and Wall St are corrupt to the core.
Wall St can’t keep itself honest because DC sells the rules to the highest bidder and shifts losses to taxpayers, rewarding greedy, risky behavior.
Then you have the Fed selling the banks cheap new money...
Let’s just say that Madoff was merely the tip of the iceberg!
STICK IT UP THE RATS BUTT! Can someone post the pic where our LOVELY Palin is shown wearing those Hot Red Shoe and than post a pic next to her Michelle wearing that stupid cake getup in Landon! Plez!
Saying that Wall St. is corrupt is the same as saying all markets, all businesses and all capitalism and free enterprise is corrupt. I lost a lot when things crashed, but I don’t blame the market.
Not are markets are free markets.
Central bank-distorted, politicized, financialized markets like Wall St are demonstrably corrupt.
I would never say all capitalism or free enterprise is corrupt. That would be like saying gravity or the weather is corrupt.
