Sarah Palin, in what was billed as her first speech overseas, spoke on Wednesday to Asian bankers, investors and fund managers.
A number of people who heard the speech in a packed a hotel ballroom, which was closed to the media, said Mrs. Palin spoke from notes for 90 minutes and that she was articulate, well-prepared and even compelling.
“The speech was wide-ranging, very balanced, and she beat all expectations,” said Doug A. Coulter, head of private equity in the Asia-Pacific region for LGT Capital Partners.
“She didn’t sound at all like a far-right-wing conservative. She seemed to be positioning herself as a libertarian or a small-c conservative,” he said, adding that she mentioned both Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. “She brought up both those names.”

They made a big mistake trying to make her out as a dolt.

From what I have seen it was not Sinclair who called the speech boring. He twittered her remarks and was largely unbiased in his comments. It was the Asia Sentinel a lib newspaper which had a correspondent (not named) calling it “usual boring Republican stuff”.
The progressives do not like any conversation that involves finding real solutions or logical conclusions. Of course they find these types of speaches “boring”.

Palin has to get overseas to get a fair shake.

I worked at Reagan’s headquarters here when he first ran for gov.
Seeing and hearing Reagan many times in person and as Pres.,
Sarah Palin is the closest to Reagan’s conservativism
of any of those who think they can be Pres.
Not only is Sarah Palin a Conservative but has the same draw with crowds as Reagan had, and I was in many of those Reagan crowds

It'll be interesting to see if this 'brand' of conservativism sells well in states with large populations of government dependents.
In a country of 'Haves' and 'Have Nots' the next three years under Obama seem to be inclined toward generating more 'have nots'- given his inattention to small businesses, tax reforms, and his healthy dose of public initiatives: health care reform, reducing greenhouse gases taxes, etc.
It's as though the concept of 'small government' has never been considered by many currently in government and lately, by the people at large. There ought to be a penalty for those who perpetuate the neglect of such a concept. It is lying by omission and a fine would be nice.
They want a fairness doctrine, well, they can have it when they decide to get 'fair' about the various types of governmental intrusion into our lives.
