Two new reports from ABC and the Washington Post underscore the “real deal” nature of the al-Qaeda terror cell uncovered this month in a flurry of arrests and search warrants. Sources within the investigation now claim that Najibullah Zazi left his fingerprints all over evidence that points to a terrorist attack, which may account for his reported flirtation with a plea bargain. Others tell ABC that they haven’t yet identified all the plotters:
Investigators said they found notes describing how to make bombs in the handwriting of an airport shuttle driver arrested as part of a terrorism investigation, and they also discovered his fingerprints on materials — batteries and a scale — that could be used to make explosives.
The emerging details show that Najibullah Zazi, who has admitted receiving weapons training from al-Qaeda, played a direct role in an alleged terror plot, authorities said in court documents released Sunday. …
The FBI said it found images of nine pages of handwritten notes on a laptop containing formulas and instructions for making a bomb, detonators and a fuse.
Zazi told the FBI that he must h ave unintentionally downloaded the notes as part of a religious book he downloaded in August. Zazi said he “immediately deleted the religious book within days of downloading it after realizing that its contents discussed jihad.” However, an arrest affidavit says the handwriting on the notes appeared to be Zazi’s. The affidavit doesn’t mention that they were part of a book, but that they were e-mailed as an attachment between accounts believed owned by Zazi in December, including an account that originated in Pakistan.
“It appeared to be consistent with the handwriting as it appeared in the document,” an FBI agent wrote.........

First an Arab, and a Muslim are two different titles. A person can have both, but simply being an Arab does not automatically make you a Muslim. While I am not the biggest fan of Islam, you look ignorant when you make blanket statements like that. What kind of legitimacy could you give a person who was trying to talk about you, and said “F’n Canadian!”? Sure, you look like one, and come from the same general area... but you are not Canadian, are you? It’s this kind of attitude that keeps people from taking the conservative movement seriously, because unless someone speaks out like I am, they think we all feel that way.

Let me clean that up for you. Let’s send all Muslims (as opposed to Arabs) back to their native lands, and call an immediate halt to the immigration into the U.S. of any more Muslims until they quit trying to kill us. That means, until the Taliban quits killing Americans in Afghanistan, and until whatever coven of them quit trying to kill us in Iraq. Also, no Muslims here until they quit trying to bomb our embassies, and until the Somalis in Minnesota stop going to Somalia to join the jihad. During World War II, we did not allow millions of Nazis to immigrate here and set up terror cells. We did not let them establish churches to nurture cell and provide cover for their efforts to kill us. Either we are at war, or we aren’t. If we aren’t, then we have surrendered, because they are still attacking us. Time after time, it is not Amish immigrants who are planning to run airplanes into buildings or blow up buses and subways and sports venues and kill innocent people. We have a sovereign right to deny anyone entrance to our country, and we have a God-given right to self-defense. Self-defense includes getting rid of the Islamic followers among us until all the followers of Islam stop being our enemies and stop trying to kill us. At the least, our rule ought to be: you go to Pakistan, you go to Somalia, you go to Afghanistan to fight us there, you can’t ever come back. If that makes me fringe, then so be it. Flame away.
Our Government keeps importing more of these threats to western civilisation.I’m glad he was caught before he could accomplish his aims but I fear One day we will be late and thousands of lives will be lost making 911 look like a trip to a terrorist amusment park.
Although "arabs" may have been a poor choice of words, I agree in principle to "muslims" being restricted from visitor and student visas, as well, as revokation of citizenship for fraud.
Membership in terrorist organizations, or travel to terrorist countries would be a good criterion.
You zero in on the few intemperate opinions and ignore the hundreds of sober, informed, reasoned statements made by most Freepers based on actual events, statements and history.

I mean, let’s round up AMERICAN CITIZENS. Using the All Muslims = Bad logic is the same as the logic used to ban guns. Let’s ban them all! Sure we might take away the good guns, but we will get all of the bad ones too, right? Wouldn’t it work out perfect like that? No, it wouldn’t, just as the criminals would keep theirs, and sheepish law biding citizens would turn theirs in, the Muslims here to do harm would still be under the radar. Now Publius, when this place becomes so exclusive that I can’t share my 10 year junior registration date opinion, please bring it up then.
