Bank of England warns of the consequences of thrift An attempt by British consumers to rein in spending after the harsh lessons of the recession could limit growth and therefore depress household income further, the Bank of England warns today.

A century of the boom-and-BUST cycle created intentionally by central banks such as the BoE, and we’re still taking what they say seriously?
END THE FED
END ALL CENTRAL BANKS
Idiots, they can’t spend what they have not got anymore. Thats what caused this bloody mess.
You got it..............more credit!
Yup, we can use a battery to run a motor, which can run a generator which charges the battery. Free power.
Seems that we scientists figured out the flaw over a century ago.
Too bad the flunkouts all went to economics and politics.
Spend your way to prosperity. I think we tried that.
How dare you ungrateful masses try to keep more of what’s yours! Don’t you know the state needs your money????
.....people everywhere aren’t paying any attention to this nonsense....they know that overspending on credit cards made them unhappy and hurt their marriages....it will take a generation before they go back to their old ways.
This “going Galt” strategy—or plain old thrift, however you wanna call it—is scaring the living daylights out of these banksters.
LOL...and while we're at it, let's end our dependence on fossil fuels by plugging our cars into the grid! ;)
Go figger.
I guess they have to “Feed the Birds!”
Who would of thought we could of overthrow the system by .....being cheap?
That’s my kind of revolution!
As said duing WWII, “Save for Liberty!”
( Well, actually back then that was really more of YOU people do without, while us the STATE wastes, kills, and destroys. Now, however, the state is saying, You waste, destroy yourself, get into more debt and SAVE US. Funny things governments. Best to avoid them.)
And shame on the banks and other ruthless whores for demanding we keep their "services" pumping away.
It's rather peaceful spending time on ourselves instead of running around the consumer gerbil wheel.
We're ok, they're not.
Instead of Galts Gulch, somewhere out west, we each have it in our pockets.
Remember three years ago( ? ) Bush sending out spend it checks? Obviously this has been going on for a long time, and is, of course, ‘bi-partisan’.
F’em. Not that I spend much anyways, but I’ll what I can. Every dollar ‘saved’ ( minus what value the, ahem, ‘value protecting’ Federal Reserve Corporation, LLC destroys each and every day ) is a bullet against the system.
They are not because they make their money by transaction fees. They are like thug doorman that say you can not get into the bar with out duking them. Well, many are drinking at home or the beach or park.
I swear the recent NYSE run up is like a bar under new management fluffing up promotions. To bad too many people got the S beat out of them, their purses stolen, and they have the same staff, same names and want us to think they are different now. “Come on in Suckers! Spend your life day ebbing money in the Federal Reserve Company Bars and Saloons! No rot gut booze here, no Sir! No future Shanghai debts on some financial slave ship for the next twenty years! Under New Management!”
Yeah, right.
There’s not enough consumin’ goin’ on out there!
Yeah, but they took their flunk out notions of what science is, and like cargo-cultist in New Guinea, they made a science(ish) monster, that they insist is the real thing.
It isn’t even Newton(ish). It isn’t even basic Lego mechanics. Gibberish.
Yep. It’s clear that in both parties there’s this mindset that what’s good for the big banks is good for America—to the point that they’ll spend trillions we don’t even have.
Destroy the currency, and many of us will just move to growing what we can at home and bartering for the rest.
Thousands of years of advice on the virtues of saving gone to crap.
