I am going to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to send a package to someone fighting in that hell hole under this Communist CIC.

If your budget is tight-

Next week Walgreens will have some things you can get for free.

Dentek Dental Care
Robitussin DM To Go
Chapstick Fresh Effects
Oral-B Advantage 1-2-3 Toothbrush
Emergen-C Booster
Vaseline Sheer Infusion Lotion

You buy it and you get a register reward. You can’t use the reward on the same item but you can buy a different item. Takes some effort..but roll away..and send someone a care package.

Great idea. I have been sending boxes to Afghan soldiers since last November. The post office has flat rate boxes.

Walgreens also has discontinued counters. Last week I stocked up on chap stick.....3 or 4 to a package for 25 cents. I use coupons to greatly reduce the cost of fruit cups, tooth paste, tooth brushes, etc. I also buy DVDs when they are on sale for $4-$5.

We are retired on a limited budget, but there is so much you can do for a little money. Each time you go to the store pick up a couple of things....that way you don’t really notice the cost.

I participate through Adopt a Platoon. Go to this website and vote for them...www.ilovechristiecookies.com
A cookie company is going to award the favorite charity $25,000. Select Adopt a Platoon Lozano, TX from the drop down box.

Making the care package for our soldiers is a wonderful idea. Do you have an address for where to ship the items? Thanks for the post.

I belong to an organization called Soldier’s Angels, www.soldiersangels.com, founded by the granddaughter of Gen. George Patton. This is how it works...the soldier submits his name for adoption, and you sign up to adopt a soldier for x amount of months. You agree to send a care package once a month, and a letter or card to the soldier once a week. I also belong to the Soldier’s Angels Letter Writing Team...I signed up to send a letter of support to two soldiers per week. Soldier’ Angels then sends me the names/addresses of two soldiers every week who submitted their names to receive letters. I can bow out of the Letter Writing Team at any time.

Soldier’s Angels is in need of volunteers to adopt a soldier....these young men and women are so appreciative of my letters to them...some of these soldiers have sent me a thank you note, and on occasions they have sent me some tokens of their stay in Afghanistan...it is touching and so appreciated by me. I have especially noticed that the soldiers from Afghanistan are in dire need of personal items; soldiers told me they’re in a remote location with no showers, chowhall or sleep trailers and in some cases no PX available...these soldiers are in need and need your help. Please check out Soldier’s Angels’ web site, and help out a soldier. These soldiers need our written support and a helping hand..there are more soldiers names being submitted than there are volunteers in some cases. God bless our soldiers, “our home team”, our “Band of Brothers and Sisters.”
