One of the most powerful figures in the Anglican Church believes that Africa is under attack from Islam and that Muslims are mass-producing children to take over communities on the continent.
Archbishop Nicholas Okoh, 56, was elected Primate of Nigeria last week and his elevation could exacerbate tensions at a time when Anglicans are working to build bridges with Muslims. Dr Michael Nazir-Ali resigned as Bishop of Rochester earlier this year to work in countries where Islam is the majority religion.
Nigeria is split almost half and half between Christianity and Islam. There are about 17 million practising Anglicans in the country, but they face persecution in the north, while the two faiths vie with local religions for supremacy in the rest of the country.
Archbishop Okoh made his controversial comments about Islam in a sermon in Beckenham, Kent, in July. He said that there was a determined Islamic attack in African countries such as Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda.

Africa first, then Europe. Asia, Russia, and the US will be difficult for them, but Mussies are showing considerable patience and long-term thinking.
But isn’t the rest of Africa “mass-producing” children as well?
No one can deny the truth of that statement. Thats what Islam does.
I can’t believe he’s from the Anglican Church. Go man, tell it like it is!
Ha ha, hilarious. This archbishop is an idiot. Doesn’t he realize that the Muslims are just doing what a society does normally. The Christians have stopped reproducing. I guess it is their vote that they don’t want to continue. Why isn’t he telling his flock to be fruitful and multiply?
How many wives does a Christian get to procreate with. Osama bin Laden has 30 something kids.
I can deny the truth of the statement. Of all the things one could criticize Muslims for, it’s not following natural law and having children. If the Christians in Nigeria don’t think Christian culture should continue, then they shouldn’t have children. Apparently, they aren’t. Which is not the Muslims fault. Maybe the Archbishop should teach Christianity to his flock, instead of chastising the Muslims in his country for being better Christians, than the Christians are. I guess it’s easier to whine, then to do the right thing. And this bishop is whining, instead of following his religion.
I have heard bin laden has many children, but I've how they turned out, or what the real story is.
The ultimate symbol of Islam's limitations is a Saudi sheikh who p!sses oil but can only buy things like Mercedes-Benz cars and Boeing or Airbus jumbo jets.
Perhaps we need a gov’t program to up our population size by increasing reproduction.
parsy, who is willing to do his part, as long as he don’t have to get married again
Wouldn't it be interesting if billions of Muslims were poised to take over the world, and Jesus returned?
What happens to the 12th Iman?
Jesus comes with him. As far as I can understand, they believe Jesus will be the Divine authority, and the 12th Imam will be the temporal authority (king).
They will take over by numbers. The silent Jihad. Then they have the ability to take over the vote in a host democracy. The host democracy becomes afraid and capitulates to their every religious demand. When their numbers become overwhelmingly large, then they obliterate anything in their path until their goal of total submission to 'allah' is acheived.
This is an entire discussion to BIG to post here... but this is just a nugget.
Joking aside... The real Jesus warned us a long time ago to not accept any 'messiah' coming out of the 'desert or some inner room'... that guy will be a false prophet. Albeit a deadly one. So if you see Jesus (Isa) coming from the Damascus or someplace in Iran... don't believe it. That guy will be bad business.
The real Jesus will come to the mount of Olives.
I know of Jesus's warnings about false prophets, but does he actually specify a physical location where he will return?
You can’t build a bridge if the other side won’t reciprocate.
Zechariah 14:4
On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.
“How many wives does a Christian get to procreate with. Osama bin Laden has 30 something kids.”
You make a good point, but if you extrapolate for a few generations, it breaks down. Henry has 10 wives; five boys, five girls. The five girls all get married, but only one of the boys gets a wife. The other four become lost boys, I don’t know, but they don’t get a harem.
The five married girls can only have so many kids during their fertile years. It will be half boys and half girls; so the cycle continues.
I think the key to exploding your population is not polygamy, but reproducing at a higher than replacement rate.
Like the Duggars! And several friends of mine.
That's a powerful quote specifically describing a mighty battle for the whole world, as when Zechariah 14:9 says: "The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name."
But I don't know that this indicates the Second Coming, because Zechariah 14:16-19 goes on to say: "Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, they will have no rain. 18 If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The LORD [d] will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 19 This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles."
However, after the Armageddon of the Second Coming, there should be no "attacking survivors" left, since the Kingdom of God would be at hand. So perhaps this Zechariah reference is talking about another time?
