Massachusetts Universal Healthcare a Disaster
WBZ Radio, Boston | 9/20/09

Posted on 09/20/2009 9:20:36 AM PDT by pabianice

On this morning's news: MassCare has added 488,000 people to the healthcare rolls. Result: MA now has a serious shortage of OB/GYNs, Urologists, Internal Medicine specialists, Dermatologists, surgeons, and others. Doctors are fleeing MA's insane politics and taxes. Criminal aliens are choking the system (signs in MA hospitals now have to be in NINE languages, and every illegal gets assigned a tax-paid translator at the hospital).

Just a small taste of ObamaCare, I assert.

MassCare also signed into law by MITT ROMNEY.

If Romney is the GOP nominee for President in 2012....the GOP might as well disband

I remember saying to some friends at the time this went into effect that this was “Mitt’s Albatross”. Deservedly so.

This program will lead our state into the same pit California finds it in currently. It’s just a matter of when. I know how Daniel Hannan feels when I see the national debate over Obamacare. I want to scream “America, don’t do this!”

I love this quote from another article: "A year ago, there were quite a few people who were ready to write off this movement. They were enthralled by Barack Obama's promise of near-Biblical transformations," Romney said in comments prepared for Saturday's meeting. "Well, he can still spin a speech, but he can't spin his record."

And nether can you Mitt.

If Romney were President, we’d have socialized health care by now. If McCain was President, we’d have cap and trade by now.

It must be a disaster.

I mean, Ted Kennedy died despite being, well, a Kennedy, and right in Massachusetts, too, right?

Cheers!

If it’s so good, you’d think that every business and every family would be moving to Massachusetts instead of moving out.

I have a friend that works in the UK NHS and he says that is exactly what happens under universal healthcare, every Tom, dick and Harry gets a translator and the state pays for it, like idiots, apparently the bill each time for a translator is like 50 pounds per hour and has to be booked 3 days in advance and if the patient doesnt turn up, the Govt gets lumped with the bill. Same with Doctors surgeries.

You must have seen the same poll I have on the Romney v. Obama ‘12 scenario - even out here on the Left Coast, they refer to this as “Romneycare”. (barf)

Great way to run a scam. Actually under the ADA, sign language translators are currently mandated for the deaf at hospitals and doctor’s offices. This costs the provider more than the service generates in revenue. There was recently a court case in which a deaf person sued and won a case against a Missouri physician for not providing a sign language provider even though it appeared that they communicated well enough with writing.
Now let’s see. We’ll get a couple of translators and schedule some office visits, bill the hospital and clinic, cancel the visit a few time and split the difference. We can even claim that we have pain and need some narcotics that we can re-sell on the street. The possibilities are endless. So much for saving on fraud and abuse!

I live in Mass, and I have their Deathcare. I just waiting three month to see a dermatologist, only to be rushed out the door in five minutes. I could go on, but the system is terrible.

BUMP!

Romney, if he throws his hat into the ring again, will not be able to shake off this disaster in Massachusetts. Potential Republican primary opponents will beat him to death with it faster than Ubama will, since Ubama's socialist health care vision is even more costly and deadly to Americans than Romneycare is.

The hardest part of all of this insanity...when cap and trade, illegal immigration, Obamacare, and Obama’s Civilian Army have torn apart the country by 2012...we will still be seeing all of these ASSCLOWNS running for President AGAIN! McLame, Romney, Huckabee, etc.

There is a sayin..that a Reagan always follows a Carter. Well..where is he?

I agree with everyone that this really really hurts Romney, and deservedly so.

However, in fairness to him, if he had NOT been involved in the health care bill in Massachusetts, the residents there would have had an EVEN WORSE system passed by the solid stoopid Dems in the Mass. legislature... even over his veto.

Mass. residents must thank him for that service, at least.

I just checked into the details of this to satisfy myself.

The Massachusetts Health Care Access and Affordability conference committee report was passed by a vote of 154 to 2 in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and a 37 to 0 vote in the Senate.

Gov.Romney vetoed 8 sections, as MS govs can. They were ALL easily reinstated by the legislature, including sections to allow illegals coverage, and requiring business to provide coverage for their employees. Republicans only held 21 of 160 seats in the House and 6 of 40 in the Senate.
