There is one in the USAF Museum at Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton Ohio. Just across the highway from Huffman Prairie, where the Wright Brothers flew: kites, gliders and finally powered aircraft.
That's a Wright B Flyer. The photo was taken at Huffman Prairie. There is one of those in the museum too.
The facilities of my unit, Foreign Technology Division, now National Air & Space Intelligence Center was very near the prairie, on the Patterson side of the base, IIRC (It was 26 years ago, and I haven't been back).
There is also a Blackbird in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in DC, and out at Beale AFB in California. Here's a Link to a REALLY BIG photo of it
The photo below is the Smithsonian's SR-71 being moved from storage as Dulles Airport. Gives a good feel for the SIZE of the beast.
What a cool picture of the SR-7l being moved! I would LOVE to go to that Air Force Museum! I have a friend who went with his son and father, and they had a wonderful time. He had his picture taken in one of the planes and looked like a pleased little boy! :D
....and an amazing REALLY BIG shot of it! LOL! Wish I had a larger computer screen for that one!
