I know two of them.
Barry doesn’t believe that most of us need doctors.
Hire a few nurses/nurse practicioners* with PHD’s and no real clinical experienc, PT’s with PHD’s* with no real clinical experience, Phamd’s* who pretend to be doctors..
Then hire millions of SEIU thugs to carry out the orders of the above and there is little need for doctors let alone new doctors.
*These people have worked in admin jobs most if not all of their lives. They write and publish cookbooks/textbooks on how to diagnosis what a patient has and how to treat their pre arrived diagnosis. They write the boiler plates re how to handle patients without doctors and medical professionals using SEIU personnel.
For your information, our incomes are already capped.
Mine is moving to Costa Rica.
If half of those 45% quit, we are all screwed. Even worse than we originally would be screwed. Which is a lot.
Most will stay on and become embittered, ineffective, demoralized, and health liabilities of their own.
Then they’ll look at all of the personal liabilities you’ve outlined, and realize that a bankruptcy filing is the first step in getting back some quality to their life - and I don’t mean material quality.
As the near and dear of several physicians, I know. But I think you get my meaning.
If there is no incentive, ie $$$, to perform extra cases, to shove in an elective surgery late at night, etc,
there will be an affect of a longer wait for services, and cost-cutting such as less doctor coverage. Its slim right now, instead of having 1 doctor covering a hospital at night, there will be 1 doctor covering several hospitals at night. There will be mergers, etc. of medical services. Plenty of layoffs of non-doctors. Plenty of work for lawyers. More administration. Jobs will be destroyed, jobs will be created.
Net effect - good for big business - not good for the average Joe.
I know a couple of GP’s who are already thinking about taking advantage of teaching positions to beat the rush out the door.
Doctors Shmoctors. All we need do is but touch the hem of the Obamessiah’s garment, and we will be healed.

Obama and his cronies are Marxist jackasses who want government to control everything.
Many doctors traditionally practiced long after normal retirement age — some doing so well into their eighties. Look for them to stop doing that when it’s no longer in their best interest financially or just too much trouble.
I know several in their late fifties/early sixties who have already bailed within past couple of years just because the administrative nightmares/costs have become untenable.
If this govt. ‘healthcare’ horror passes, many more will head for the door. The younger ones may stay on or change careers, as some others I’ve known have done.

That’s what would happen. Much like fines/penalties on citizens for NOT carrying Zero’s brand of ‘health insurance’ whether you want it or not.
Keep repeating that if it makes you feel better.
Unlike the average joe, physicians make good money and on the average, save a significant portion of their income.
There is also going to be a growth industry in physician consultants to help get government approval of medical treatment.
I personally know dozens of physicians in their 50’s that have enough saved to retire but continue because they like it, start treating them like government property and they will walk.
Not a problem though, India and Pakistan are graduating plenty of docs to fill the void.
Even if this is overestimated, and only 5% of doctors leave the profession, the trend will still be in the wrong direction when MILLIONS more entitlement piglets will be seeking medical serives. Talk about a confluence of disasters.

You are the one who’s nuts. There’s a big difference between doctors who are well educated professionals and run of the mill minions in other industries, and yeah, that includes ‘management’ types with their BA degrees. BFD.
Most doctors worth their salt have done pretty well for themselves over time and can certainly afford to retire early. The younger ones might have to hang on awhile.
