I can actually foresee heavy fines and penalties for doctors who close their practices.

I can sympathize with our Doctors,

For every one we loose, there are Foreign Doctors willing to fill their shoes.

As if they haven't already!

(Snickering Sadly.)

I don’t even know what that was supposed to mean - doctors are all evil capitalists and DonaldC is quite sure he will never need one?

Why do we need doctors when we are all ‘covered’ ??

That’s the deal with socialism -

it all comes down to using whips.

This poll is admittedly thin on details. They are still receiving responses apparently, but there’s no margin of error, and no indication how many responses they’ve received.

That said, the sentiments being conveyed do match up with what I’m hearing from friends in the medical profession.

General practitioners are disappearing, and the ones who are still carrying the water have had it with insurance, long hours, and gov’t bureaucracy. Gov’t overhaul will be the final nail in the coffin for most.

This is fear mongering, just like the democrats. Companies all over the country have dropped pay for their employees and you did not see mass quitting, and you won’t see it with doctors either. This is just nuts.

Was just at the doctor today actually. The Nurse Practitioner looked absolutely THRILLED (/sarc) to hear about ObamaCare. “Welcome to UK Medicine.” & “How’d you like to wait for a year for this appointment instead of 6 hours?” were a couple of comments she made.

Two of every three practicing physicians oppose the medical overhaul plan under consideration in Washington, and hundreds of thousands would think about shutting down their practices or retiring early if it were adopted, a new IBD/TIPP Poll has found.

That's when people who claim healthcare is a right are going to find out just how wrong they are.

No problem. If there’s a physician work stoppage, have some of Holder’s goons take the doctors’ loved ones hostage and for each week he stays off the job deliver him a pound of flesh or a fingertip. Crisis solved.

Companies may have dropped pay, but it wasn’t accompanied by forcing them into 12-hour workdays, either.

You have no appreciation of how infuriating it is for practitioners to try and get MediCare reimbursement as the system is right now. They know what it’s going to be like if the gov’t takes over the whole enchilada.

Admittedly, some of this is an emotional response, and certainly much less than 45% would kit. That said, get ready for a medical profession filled with tired, demoralized, and bankrupt doctors.

Now that would be real measurable change. Once alive, then dead because of the lack of medical care. Now that’s some real change.

He'll put their loved ones in the "FastTrack" tranche of end-of-life counseling.
