Jesse Washington covers race for The Associated Press
Everybody's racist, it seems.
But if everybody's racist, is anyone?
"It gets to the point where we don't have a word that we use to call people racist who actually are," said John McWhorter, who studies race and language at the conservative Manhattan Institute.
Webster's Dictionary: someone who believes in the inherent superiority of a particular race or is prejudiced against others.
"I think (Wilson's outburst) is based on racism," Jimmy Carter said. "There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president."
"A racist is a person who discriminates or holds prejudices based on race. Discrimination is treatment based on category rather than individual merit," said Tom Molloy, a 65-year-old retired financial services executive from Brentwood, N.H. "Barack Obama favors policies that will give preference to groups based on race rather than individual merit. It's called affirmative action."
Mark Williams, one of the leaders of the Sept. 12 rallies in Washington D.C., headlined a blog entry about the arrest of black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. at his own home by a white police officer, "Racist In Chief Obama Fanning Flames of Racism." And too many bloggers to count are saying that Congressman Jim Clyburn, who marched with Martin Luther King Jr. and has called Wilson and other health care protesters racist, is the real racist himself.
"In 100 years, when people chronicle how America got past race," said McWhorter, "the uptick in white people calling blacks racist is going to be seen as a symptom of the end."

Well, I guess I should confess: I’m a racists. ... I’m a humanracist. And as a humanracist I am angry and no longer tolerant of the democrat defense and promotion of slaughtering alive unborn humans in the womb. I am especially insensed that so many black unborn humans are targeted for this racial cleansing democrats promote. Yes, I’m a racist, a humanracist, and the current Pres_ _ent is a wicked man, a threat to my race, the human race.

Wouldn’t you like to be a racist, too?
Depending on the source, I have no problem w/ being called a “racist”. For example, if Rev’s. Jeremiah Wright or Al Sharpton call me a racist, then who cares? Let them say what they want, & I will work hard to piss them off even more w/ a smile on my face.
OTOH, if Dr. Walter Williams, Rev. Billy Graham, or Justice Clarence Thomas call me a racist, then I would begin to have major guilt pains & know that I have some apologizing to do.

“be a racist, call someone racist...”
If I call you "racist" first, then you just sound juvenile to repeat the charge back at me. Never mind if I really AM the racist one, it's all about perceptions.
Remember to use and spread the term “Racer” to describe those who pull the race card at every opportunity.
Soon, the only people guaranteed to grovel and beg forgiveness upon the playing of the race card will be republican politicians.
Racist is sooooooooo 20th century.
I know one thing, we won't "get past race" doing what we have been doing for the last 50-60 years. I'm not even really sure what that means "get past race"? We sure won't get past race having the multitude of anti-white political groups we now have with many whites pretending there isn't anything racial about it while we perform this very weird one way race dance.
I am Sparticus.
I am a racist.
I am Joe the Plumber.
I am sorry to disagree that he has a peanut brain, I think it might be more like a mustard seed.
