President Barack Obama, seeking to make a case for health-insurance regulation, told a poignant story to a joint session of Congress last week. An Illinois man getting chemotherapy was dropped from his insurance plan when his insurer discovered an unreported gallstone the patient hadn't known about.....
"They delayed his treatment, and he died because of it," the president said in the nationally televised address.
In fact, the man, Otto S. Raddatz, didn't die because the insurance company rescinded his coverage once he became ill, an act known as recission........got Mr. Raddatz's policy reinstated within three weeks of his April 2005 rescission and secured a life-extending stem-cell transplant for him. Mr. Raddatz died this year, nearly four years after the insurance showdown.
Obama aides say the president got the essence of the story correct. Mr. Raddatz was dropped from his insurance plan weeks before a scheduled stem-cell transplant.....
The patient's sister, Peggy M. Raddatz, testified before the House Energy and Commerce oversight subcommittee June 16 that her brother ultimately received treatment that "extended his life approximately three years." Nowhere in the hearing did she say her brother died because of the delay. Ms. Raddatz didn't return calls seeking comment...

Obama would do well to produce some kind of proof or expert opinion (even if it’s only his hack surgeon general). There might be problem cases where a critical treatment was delayed well past the point of optimum benefit, but this does not seem to be it.
Obuma would do well to produce some kind of proof that he’s eligible to hold the office he’s sitting his increasingly fat ass in.

...more like “immoral permission”.
Conservatism is based on truth and fact. Liberalism requires suspension of truth and fact.
The essence of the story? As in, the h*ll with all the silly details, like whether the insurance company caused his death by dropping him. Seems to me THAT was the essence of the story, and The Won got it 100% wrong.
I beg to differ. He got the essence of the story completely wrong! In trying to correlate a cause and effect connection between an insurance company dropping his coverage and his death, the Liar in Chief used this example. However, the essence of the story was that the man did, in fact, get his coverage reinstated and did not die. How in the world does that translate into a correct essence of the story? It's the complete opposite!
It’s like the Bummer’s trying to claim that the 3-week muck-up in the treatment greatly abbreviated the man’s life. But he won’t come right out and SAY it. There are bound to be worse cases than this out there, but he needs to dig, not just suppose.
HE MIGHT BE PRESIDENT...BUT HE OWES 100% TRUTH AND RESPECT TO OTHERS. TO OUTRIGHT LIE TO US, AND HIS CONGRESS IS NOT BEING RESPECTFUL TO ANYONE AT ALL. SO, OBAMA WAS TREATED EXACTLY AS HE TREATS OTHERS - NO SPECIAL RESPECT NEEDED!
The Dr. told my dad that if he didn't give up smoking he would die. Well my dad kept smoking and sure enough, 30 years later, he died.
(I don't know who to credit that joke to)
You're a raci... er,...
As our communists leader, lies do not matter. He is our ruler, absolute and his conversion of America to Communism will soon be complete. He will have the power to crush resistance. It is no longer possible to convert most of the rest of his followers since those slaves agree with the handouts he has given them. If things don’t change soon it will be over never to return to a Constitutional conservative free enterprise America.
That dog won’t hunt. The man went on to live four more years. Sound logical reasoning won’t allow for an assumption that the 3-week delay caused or prevented anything. And, yes, there had to have been more compelling stories out there to support his claim of harm to individuals when insurance companies ‘behave badly.’ What does it tell you about the so-called ‘intellectual vigor’ of this man that this was the best he could come up with?
Great picture. They aren’t used to being called on it.
OBMAM LIED AGAIN....WHAT ELSE IS NEW....PING!!!!
