Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) confirms the real unemployment rate.
FOX Live Interview

Posted on 09/17/2009 5:34:11 AM PDT by John.Galt2012

Did anyone else see Griff's hallway interview of Sen. Sanders about support to ACORN. Part of his justification was that the economy is in collapse and we have 17% unemployment... Hmmm wonder where he is getting his numbers. Of course we already knew the 9.5% was a farce but FOX should jump on that one with both feet and start digging in.

It is worse. My husband was just told he will be let go in 2 weeks because of not enough work. This is now the 2nd time he’ll be out looking for a job and there seems to not be anything out there. Thanks for everything you’ve done for us Govt.!

All the bad facets of this economy haven't come to fruition.

Million more foreclosures, both residential and commercial, the coming hyperinflation, not to mention the tax hikes, etc. We're being LIED to, once more.

Oh yes, it is definitely coming. The inflation is getting ready to kick. I have been telling my friends and family to watch the consumer reports from Halloween (that will be the first peek), then Christmas sales will be the be wake up call.

But but but look at how many jobs (Joe’s favorite three-letter word) were SAVED by Barry!!!!! He must not have received the memo.

The Baraqqis just don’t get it.

Small business is where real job creation occurs.

Small business is scared to death of all the Baraqqi pending programs, Cap N Tax, Card Check, Obamacare, repeal Bush tax cuts, etc.

All the Baraqqis understand is community organizing and welfare.

No idea what it really is but government statistics and the methodology behind them tend to be extremely rosy. It could well split the difference between the two numbers.

I’ll be praying for your family. Being unemployed is no fun :-(. For the first time in 13 years I’ve found myself without work. I just found a job after 2.5 months of searching. It’s been really crazy. But the job is in Texas and my house is underwater (and I had a normal loan, not a crazy interest only scam). I’m going to have to walk away from it, which makes me ill.

This economy stinks, I’ll keep your family in our prayers. All the best.

Good luck with your new job. I live in Texas and at least the cost of living here is alot lower than other parts of the country.

Of course we already knew the 9.5% was a farce

It's not a farce. It is a measure of specific conditions that is used by economists. You can say that 17% of the people are not employed, and economists can say that the unemployment rate is 9.5% and both are correct.

He was talking about a segment of the population having 17% unemployment, but i didn’t catch which segment he was talking about.
