ORMOND BEACH -- Two attempted armed robbery suspects were hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds after the man police said they tried to rob shot them.

According to police, Christopher Young, 38, and William Bell, 31, went into the home of Dane Rollins, 34, early Sunday morning armed with handguns.

Police said after the suspects stole cash, Rollins grabbed his shotgun and went after them.

The two suspects fled, but police said they later found them with several gunshot wounds. The men were taken to Halifax Medical Center.

Rollins was not hurt.

Police said shocked neighbors witnessed the entire gunfight.

“‘Boom, boom, boom!’ Then I came outside and hear a neighbor yelling to get out of the house,” said neighbor Jonathan Smith.

A third suspect, Brandy Lee Harris, 28, was also arrested Sunday, but police did not say how she was involved.

You cannot be sure that a perpetrator armed with a gun is leaving or just getting to a better tactical position.

Good job! Althought “boom boom boom” should have left three burglars with holes in them, not just two!

“Whether to shoot someone once is a moral and legal question. How many times to shoot them, is a tactical question.”

I'm gonna take a WAG and say 'Lookout' or 'Get Away Driver'.

Then again, she could have been an ACORN Census Worker.

Off topic, but wifey and I spent a couple of nights on Daytona Beach (she used to live there) right after Memorial Day.....surprised to learn that there’s now a charge to drive on the beach. Five bucks?

Dang. Ormond Beach used to one of the nicer towns in the section of coast running from Ormond beach down to New Smyrna Beach.
Holly Hill was the high crime, arm pit area. Guess I’m showing my age, left there in ‘72-’73.

thats right or i believe you can buy a season pass....everything is going up or having fee’s put on it anymore....we usually hit a place just south of the boardwalk around 10 to 10am in the morning on the weekend...you can park for free (so far) and access the beach from there....
