A Hofstra University student who accused a group of men of gang-raping her inside a campus dorm has recanted her tale, sources said.
“She admitted it was consenual and the district attorney is dismissing the charges and releasing the suspects,” a law enforcement source told the Post.
The accused men — Rondell Bedward, Jesus Ortiz, Kevin Taveras, Stalin Felipe — are expected to be released from custody as soon as tonight.

Prosecute the woman
If that’s what really happened, and she wasn’t intimidated into recanting. That happens too. We don’t know yet. We may never.
Check to make sure a “Keep talkin B#tch and we’ll kill you and your family” event didn’t occur. Polygraph her. If it didn’t and she truly made it all up..... charge her, convict her, put her in the clink, and give her the same punishment her “attackers” would have received.

There needs to be a special law for this sort of heinous crime which ruins lives.
I said yesterday that it didn’t make sense that the men would sign in to security right before they raped her.
Lock the lying slut up, if she made this up. The damage to race relations from these fabricated stories cannot be overestimated.
Here is a tip for guys.. to avoid trouble.. be careful when you are in a room with 4 other guys having sex with a woman...
Her story was pretty unlikely-sounding to begin with. A guy at a party “takes” her cell phone, so she follows him back to his dorm and rides up the elevaator with him to the 11th floor? If the guy wouldn’t give her cell phone back at the party, why would he give it back in an elevator in his dorm? Or in his dorm room?
Identify her publicly, place her naked in stockades in a seedy neighborhood overnight (like the South Bronx, perhaps), with a sign hanging around her neck reading “Rape me. I deserve it.” Really. Worse things could have happened to these young men if they’d been sent to prison.
Actual gang rapes are rare; and a few details about this seemed unusual.
At any rate, the press should never have published the names and photographs of the defendants, along with their home addresses!—at this stage of the proceedings.
I guess the media learned nothing from the Duke lacrosse case...
That might be a bit harsh, but she should face criminal charges. At least she recanted quickly, instead of putting the young men through hell for months or years.
I just don’t get why a woman would make such false accusations.

Prosecute all of them. Her for filing a false police report. The men for their lack of judgement.
Where is this woman’s name, photo, and home address?
The media didn’t think the accused were entitled to a presumption of innocence, and gave out all that info to the public.
Why is this liar protected? These men might very well have gone to prison if this case had gone to trial. (They would have had, somehow, to prove their own innocence—contrary to the way the system is supposed to work).
Is she just to be let off?

She needs to be prosecuted, I’ll agree with that. While it is dispicable what she did, I don’t have a lot of sympathy for the men involved. Their lack of judgement in this is appalling.
