Tens, maybe hundreds, of thousands of angry Americans stormed Washington last weekend to oppose ObamaCare and government spending.
How'd Democrats react? By redoubling efforts to pass "health-care reform" -- dissent be damned.
True, Dems may pay a price if they succeed. But so will the nation -- in terms of a sapped economic recovery, further job losses, lower-quality, rationed health care and, of course, monster taxes.

I hope they do regret it when the election comes around
Way under reported. There was more than a million people in the Capitol area and the Mall. Specifically 1.2 to 1.6 million, depending on the peoples assumed density in photos.
Words of War, Dissent be Damned.
They might ask King George III how that worked out when he similarly ignored protests coming from America.
MAYBE IN EXCESS OF TWO MILLION!!!!!
LLS
These stupid dems think that by election time our anger will have subsided.
It won’t, it will only grow as this marxist punk continues to overreach.
Keep supporting tea parties and protests.
The last time our hearts were moved to this degree in defense of America was after 12/7/41.
.
Our problem, as I see it, is that Obama and the Dems actually don’t feel threatened by the march. We don’t have a unified program or plan, and they see the march as simply an expression, sort of just letting off steam, which now that it has been made will simmer down and disperse.
He knows his project is unpopular but he just doesn’t care because he doesn’t need to. He can get it through without a single GOP vote, and it will be enforced by all the power of the US government. November 2010 is actually far away in his mind, because it’s unlikely in any case that we will be able to make enough of a change to overturn any of the laws he manages to get through in the interim.
In addition, I think he is trying to keep us so distracted with the medical care issue that we completely miss the huge, massively intrusive power grab represented by “Cap and Trade.” If that passes the Senate, there will be such an intrusive and oppressive governmental structure in place that it will be impossible for us to offer any resistance. Also, the economy will grind to a halt and we will be in truly desperate circumstances.
So the question is - and this was never satisfactorily answered for me by the speakers at the march - what we should do next. What do we do, other than show up at protests that they will ignore, to really bring about a halt to these programs before it’s too late? November 2010 may actually be too late. I think we need organized plan of activities now, but I’m not sure what they should be.
they May lose some elections over The Passage of Health care but we would be the losers and be stuck with it..
Obama is trying his best to incite a race war, let’s hope cool heads prevail for the next couple of years.
You bring up some very good points.

I totally agree!
I am fairly new to free republic and have learned a lot in the last 6 weeks. However, I feel we are missing something or perhaps, there is a section of free republic which I have not accessed as yet.
I noticed from the 912 website, there were so many organizations that participated in the march.
What is being done to share information, and collaborate to outline a plan of action and execute it?
The threat is real and although Glenn Beck has uncovered and exposed many czars,Acorn, etc., I haven’t seen the light (the need is to create an organization that unites us to defend our freedom) that should be showing us the way.
The thing of it is, if they stick to their guns in the House with HR 3200 and cram it through the Senate via reconciliation, the 2010 election would do us no good unless we miraculously won a 2/3 conservative majority in both houses, because Hussein would never sign a bill undoing Obamacare.
We’d have to win majorities in the House and Senate and replace Hussein in 2012 to have a chance to dump the POS law.
