It doesnt matter what side of the debate you are on. One thing is becoming clear, and that is that Mark Williams, along with the racist sign holders during protests (and I mean the ones with the actual racist signs, not the protesters in general) are not coming off well.
Mark Williams was on the panel of CNNs Anderson Cooper 360″, and he didnt come off looking very good.
Not only did he contradict a number of his own points, but he stumbled through the interview, and was actually openly laughed at by the other panelists.
It is a trend that has come from several sides at this point. Even conservatives who are openly against Obama and his policies have made many disdainful remarks about Mark Williams.
So, where does this lead the protesters?
There are rational Tea Party protesters, I am positive of this. I dont agree with their views, and find some of the allegations frankly laughable, but I still think they have a right to their point of view.
But as long as you are all led by a man who posts on his blog ridiculous, nonsensical rants alleging that President Obama is an Indonesian Muslim (which is confusing), or a welfare thug, which just comes off at odds with the working class mentality Williams tries to build on, you probably wont get further than protests.
This is doubly true of those who are actually showing respect to the protesters at the rallies that hold up signs promoting racist propaganda, such as showing Obama as an African witchdoctor.
For all of you who are rational, intelligent citizens who just dont happen to agree with Obama, I salute you and your attempt to exercise your right to protest.
For those like Williams and the protesters he condemns in one breath, and supports in the next, you will bring your own cause down. Especially since you seem to be shouting the loudest.

He sounds very good and reasonable other than that. What a shame. Prior self restraint would have made all the difference. When you're an organizer of a mass movement, you need to act impeccably.
Probably why Cooper had him on.
duh
Who the hell is Mark Williams?
Yep, he was set up.
But so was ACORN so fair’s fair.
Too bad.
Doesn’t matter. Nobody watches CNN.
Carville is one ugly dude, especially when laughing.
Isn’t he the one who said the comment about $100 being drug through a trailer park is all that was needed to get Paula Jones to speak out against Butthead Clinton?
Does matter.
An unfortunate title when discussing Anderson Cooper...I’m sure he enjoyed it immensely.
Actually, I don’t think he did that bad. Glen Beck has been calling 0bama a racist, losing advertisers in the process.
I’ll agree it is hard to say he is racist when he has so many whites in his administration (heck, his “number two” is an old white guy), but then I don’t agree with Beck on that comment, either.
Noone watchs CNN.
Acorn was set up? How so? And so what?
Racist sign holders? I didn’t see one inappropriate sign the other day. As for Mark Williams, I am aghast that other members of a CNN panel laughed at him.
Hell, I’m laughing at him for being stupid enough to take part in a CNN forum.
Tea Party Leader Mark Williams: Hoist With His Own Petard

your attempt to exercise your right to protest.
What?
That depends on the point you are trying to make.
Is Williams representative of the Tea Party movement? No.
Are those nailed in the ACORN stings representatives of ACORN? Sure. They were even paid by the group.
Close - but it was $20.00. Prostitutes were cheaper before ACORN organized them.
It was a good thing.
My point is that this is “gotcha” too.
I didn’t know we had any “leaders”. Did someone hold an election?
Anyone that goes on CNN is an idiot. That said, there are lunatics in every party, and no doubt there are racists among us, as there are racists in the White House. We have to be smarter. He was not. He was earnest. They scored a safety. We still have the momentum.
