Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst last week is drawing new recriminations on the House floor, with a member of the Congressional Black Caucus suggesting that a failure to rebuke Wilson is tantamount to supporting the most blatant form of organized racism in American history.
In an obvious reference to the KKK, Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., said Tuesday that people will put on "white hoods and ride through the countryside" if emerging racist attitudes, which he says were subtly supported by Wilson, are not rebuked. He said Wilson must be disciplined as an example.

The punishment is expected take the form of a "resolution of disapproval," which is a milder version of other more traditional means of congressional discipline. Wilson can avoid the rap on the wrists by apologizing to his colleagues on the House floor, but Wilson -- who already apologized directly to the White House -- has said that's not going to happen.

Johnson seemed to reference the protests held in Washington, D.C., on Saturday in making his claim. While many protesters were there to demonstrate against big government and federal over-spending, Johnson argued that a "fringe" element is motivated by race and that Wilson's behavior is a "wink" to that fringe.

[I’m afraid all this race baiting, claiming that ALL opposition to Obama and the Democrats Socialist policies is “racist”, is going to cause a backlash, that might lead to “white hoods” being donned, though perhaps more metaphorically, than literally.
I fear, that some, good, decent, white people, who truly want black Americans to do well, and who try to judge all people not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character, are going to become embittered by this unending, hurtful, barrage of false accusations of “racism” from the left.

The fallout from the rampant race card playing is already happening. Unfortunately, Mr. Obama was elected on the basis of: 1) he is going to bring us Hope And Change from the failed Bush policies and 2) he will be the first black president.
The “black community” has been encouraged to feel pride simply because one of “their race” is occupying the White House and it’s really irrelevant what Mr. Obama actually does while he’s in there.
His approval numbers were riding high at the time of his inauguration but every month that goes by with the President acting like a bungling fool his numbers drop further and further. And the “black community” has been put in the unenviable position where the embarrassing failure of the president is also a failure of “the black race” and any criticism of his failure is a criticism of all blacks.
This is unhealthy for America and it’s dangerous as well. There is a significant and still growing resentment among many blacks toward whites and the less popular Mr. Obama is the greater this indignation will be. “Incidents” of black youths targeting whites with violence for seemingly no reason are happening with greater frequency and this can only result in a response in kind - whites who were not predisposed to bigotry will begin to consider the possibility that the black “race” is emotionally inferior and perhaps less capable of living like civilized human beings than other races.
This is not healthy for America and much harm will come from this.

So instead of the official letter of reprimand or censure, barring Wilson from speaking on the Floor for a determined period of time, the Dems are now going to have him crawl through a spanking gauntlet? I'm assuming from the tone and the words this idiot is spouting that the ordinary measures are much too tame for the transgression.

Look, I hate to point out logic to this goob, but wouldn't meting out discipline to Rep. Wilson foster MORE ire from the racists in the country, encourage the white hood activity??

I look good in white, but instead of the pointy hat, can I wear a cowboy hat, or maybe a Fedora? I already own those hats, so it would same me some money for my new black hating uniform.
