Congressman Suggests People Will Don 'White Hoods' If Wilson Not Rebuked (Good Grief)
Fox News ^ | 09/15/2009 | Fox News

Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst last week is drawing new recriminations on the House floor, with a member of the Congressional Black Caucus suggesting that a failure to rebuke Wilson is tantamount to supporting the most blatant form of organized racism in American history.

In an obvious reference to the KKK, Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., said Tuesday that people will put on "white hoods and ride through the countryside" if emerging racist attitudes, which he says were subtly supported by Wilson, are not rebuked. He said Wilson must be disciplined as an example.

~~

The punishment is expected take the form of a "resolution of disapproval," which is a milder version of other more traditional means of congressional discipline. Wilson can avoid the rap on the wrists by apologizing to his colleagues on the House floor, but Wilson -- who already apologized directly to the White House -- has said that's not going to happen.

~~~~~
...condemned by colleagues on both sides of the aisle for breaching protocol, some have gone a step further and accused Wilson of being racially motivated.
Johnson seemed to reference the protests held in Washington, D.C., on Saturday in making his claim. While many protesters were there to demonstrate against big government and federal over-spending, Johnson argued that a "fringe" element is motivated by race and that Wilson's behavior is a "wink" to that fringe.
~~~ "I've been loath to admit that the shrieking lunacy of the summer ... had much to do with race," she wrote. "But Wilson's shocking disrespect for the office of the president -- no Democrat ever shouted 'liar' at W. when he was hawking a fake case for war in Iraq -- convinced me: Some people just can't believe a black man is president and will never accept it."

Gee, I must have missed something. I thought that Wilson said “you lie”. Where’s the racism in that? I don’t get it.

Just part of Ohaha’s New America I suppose.

Destroy whitey, destroy the USA.

0bama (The Uniter) has his side of the isle coming unhinged.
The race-card campaign lately, is really putting the spotlight on shallow, petty, name calling Democrats.
It may take years for them to recover the set back that they are cultivating in race relations. Because they are hawking THEIR own brand of hate by accusing all white people of being racist.
Enough is enough-I think America is fed up with these moronic agitators.

“I fear, that some, good, decent, white people, who truly want black Americans to do well, and who try to judge all people not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character, are going to become embittered by this unending, hurtful, barrage of false accusations of “racism” from the left.”

I see that happening already. I was born after the civil rights movement and even in the south, I went to school with all children and didn’t think anything about it. All these OLD black people are saying things that shocks and saddens me. Saddens me more now because my CHILDREN are coming home from school after hearing BLACK CHILDREN quoting their BLACK LEADERS. My kids are stupified by this! My 13 year old won an essay contest on MLK’s “I have a dream” speech dedicated to her best friend in the world who wouldn’t have been in school with her without the civil rights movement. I’m trying my best to NOT let this garbage CREATE racism in my own children just from their experience at school. Obama is mentioned so often when someone gets in trouble. She has made a point to say there are a few who think it’s ridiculous when a kid throws up Obama when he gets in trouble, but it’s not the majority.

What made me sick hearing this today is what my daughter said happened in middle school yesterday. THE KIDS ARE REPEATING THE ADULTS. Kid got in trouble, kid said to white teacher “You just can’t stand that a black man is your President and you taking it out on me”.

How is this what MLK Jr. envisioned?

Heard this on the Noon news update; "Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., said Tuesday that people will put on "white hoods and ride through the countryside" if Joe Wilson is not rebuked.

Instead of white hoods, maybe we should all start wearing paper bags over our heads to display our disgust with our government.

The problem with the current situation is that there IS TRUE RACISM going on. It is that many blacks have been raised to hate white people.

And to further the problem, the left is insisting that when we point out this racism, WE are the ones who are racist.

How close is THIS to being armed and ready?

I often wonder if Obama had planned a race war in America from the beginning.

What better way to declare martial war and call off elections, confiscate civilian's weapons, open "detainment centers"?

I'm sure the elites and "journalists" are secure in the knowledge they will be on the "winning" side.

Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga
people will put on "white hoods and ride through the countryside" if Joe Wilson is not rebuked.

'White Hoods'? Sorry Hank, that dog don't hunt. White people no longer stand and shiver at the mere thought of being called a racist. 'Heck', you and your ilk have called white people so many other names one more name won't make a difference.

The fact is Hank, the Race Card has been overplayed to the point that's now a joke. Except maybe to white liberals who feel guilt for everything -- including the invention of the wheel. Which led to Global Warming.

'Bad white man, bad!'

Who are the rascists? The truly ironic thing is that the Dems keep dragging the fact that Obama lied right out in front of the American people.

What bugs me is comments like AG Holder made.

What is ignored is the tremendous advancement this country made through the past 4-5 decades in race relations. Simply compare America in 1945 to 1995.

At some point, the veils of political correctness may, just maybe may drop and there well could be a backlash.

I hope not, but to simply berate America when we have a mulatto President is stunning.

Guess Americans are so racist they could only elect a half black President ;>

For those who don't know, Major Owens was a Congressman from Harlem who was a regular on the Special Orders speech roster. Were you to tune in to one of those gems, you'd swear you were listening to the Best of Art Bell because Owens obviously inhabited some alternate reality organized not by the laws of physics, but the laws of racism. I'll say this much for Major Owens: he inspired me to write a grad school paper on the 14th Amendment because he claimed in one of his speeches that it could not be colorblind in application because it was written for, and only for, black people.
