SEIU I believe also funds an organization running ads on Boston radio urging voters to contact their legislators to honor the memory of Sen. Kennedy, who “worked so hard for us”, and telling them to pass a bill changing the Senate succession law (changed in 04 from appointment to election when it looked like Kerry might win and they didn’t want Romney to appoint a Republican). Now they say crucial votes on health care, etc., are coming and “we need two” Senators
(the current gov is a Dem and would get to appoint a temp.
Senator who no doubt would be sympathetic...needless to say MA got by fine in ‘04 when Kerry ran for Prez, and this past year Ted Kennedy honored the state by missing 97
per cent of the votes and not resigning so the election
process—which he championed in ‘04—could start...)
