Media shut out from Palin's Hong Kong speech
CNN ^ | September 14th, 2009 | Alexander Mooney

(CNN) – Sarah Palin's speech to investors in China later this month will be closed to the media, organizers of the event confirmed to CNN Monday.

The former Alaska governor is set to address the annual CLSA Investors' Forum September 23, though the group is also declining to reveal the topic of the former GOP vice presidential candidate's closed-door speech.

"We are not disclosing the topic of Sarah Palin's presentation at this point," said Simone Wheeler, head of communications for CLSA.

Wheeler said much of the four-day forum, which includes more than 200 presentations, is closed to the media except for a handful of keynote addresses where the speakers have specifically allowed members of the press to be invited.

Palin, whose lack of foreign policy credentials was criticized by Democrats during the 2008 campaign, apparently was not among those speakers willing to grant members of the media access to her speech.

"For keynote presentations, it is the speaker's decision as to whether or not their sessions are closed. Several of our keynotes this year are not open to media," Wheeler said.

There has been speculation Palin could receive upwards of six figures on the speaking circuit, though the organization is remaining tight-lipped on that matter.

"We never disclose if, or how much, our speakers are remunerated," Wheeler said

She’s going to make (and raise) a ton of money over the next few years in speaking appearances.

“Palin, whose lack of foreign policy credentials”

Of course good ole Communist's Cretins and Nuts would say something like that, I hope she locks these Enemies of America out permanently.

Yep, why cheapen her “brand” by letting a hostile media intrude into a private speaking engagement. Her speaking fees will only go up as she becomes more in demand.

CLSA to host Sarah Palin at 16th CLSA Investors’ Forum

31 August, 2009

THIS PRESENTATION IS OPEN ONLY TO CLSA CLIENTS REGISTERED TO ATTEND THE FORUM

Hong Kong, 31 August 2009 - CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets, Asia’s leading independent brokerage and investment group, will host the former Governor of Alaska and Republican vice-presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, in her first international speaking engagement outside North America.

Palin will address CLSA clients and delegates in a keynote speech at the 16th CLSA Investors’ Forum to be held in Hong Kong from 21-25 September. Palin joins a list of noted global leaders including Bill Clinton, Al Gore and Alan Greenspan who have chosen the CLSA Investors’ Forum as their platform of choice to reach global institutional fund managers and CEO’s of Asia’s leading listed corporations.

CLSA Chairman and CEO Jonathan Slone said: “As the first female governor of Alaska and the youngest person ever elected governor of that state, Palin has broken new ground in US politics and we are delighted that she will make her first visit to Asia to present at the CLSA Investors’ Forum.”

“CLSA consistently sets the benchmark for original and thought-provoking content, and aims to present global political and industry leaders whose policies and platforms have influenced global markets.”

Joining Palin, are more than 40 keynote and specialist speakers including Niall Ferguson, Harvard professor and author of the bestseller The Ascent of Money; Robert Fisk, Middle east correspondent for The Independent and one of the few Western journalists to have interviewed Osama bin Laden; Sir Ken Robinson author of The Element: How finding your passion changes everything; Satyajit Das author of Traders, Guns and Money; David Roche, economic and political analyst; and Marc Faber, investment contrarian and author of Tomorrow’s Gold.

Now in its 16th year, the CLSA Investors’ Forum is Asia’s premier investment conference providing unrivalled corporate access to 1300 global fund managers from 32 countries, representing more than US$10trillion in funds under management. Over five days, they meet with more than 400 CEOs and CIOs of Asia’s leading listed corporations in 2500 group and private meetings. Simultaneously, a seven-track schedule offers over 200 keynote, specialist, CLSA analyst and corporate presentations.

The CLSA Investors’ Forum is CLSA’s annual flagship event and one of six held throughout the year. Participation is by invitation only.

I think it’s good that this event is closed to the media! This way, they won’t be able to twist everything Sarah says into a lie.

Typical for CNN to be moaning about their denied access.

Put their panties in a knot now:). Why do they think the media should be present when a private citizen speaks? She is a nonentity according to them, a stupid b**** that should just shut up, so why the interest in her speeches?

The State Run Media is so transparent.

Go Sarah! I will be interested to see a transcript of it if she releases one later.

Fine. I trust her and probably know what she has to say anyway. People who tell the truth stay consistent.

Liars keep changing their stories and need to be monitored—like when they want to talk to your kid without you being there...

She is a private citizen. Do we have to have the media listen to our speeches?

This is America and there is freedom of speech. Let’s keep it.

good lock them out.

We need Sarah to lead a movement. We need Sarah and those who support her to form a party-within-a-party to help conservatives take over the GOP. End the open primaries so effectively used by Soros to nominate our candidates for us.

We need our own pre-primaries so we can have a single candidate running against these RINO’s in the GOP. We need out own local councils, state assemblies, national convention, fundraising mechanisms that do not give squat to RINO’s.

We need our own online TV channels and other media that cannot be controlled by those outside it. Those 9/12 marchers are the people who could form a core of the new GOP.

If you think Sarah scares them, if you think 9/12 rattled them, then wait until we set up the party-within-a-party. And we won’t talk to the MSM about it either.

Yeah... and a commie raised and born kenyan, usurping, muslim, racist, community organizer with no job experience and absolutely no foreign policy experience beyond his islamic travels, was just what the dims ordered... and beyond giving everything away to our enemies, granting them FULL CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, surrendering in the WOT, and failing in his attempts to make nicey nice with evil... his foreign policy track record... not so good.

GOOD FOR SARAH... SCREW THE MEDIA!
