| Urgent: Two Anti-Gun Bills Head to Governors Desk in California |
| Monday, September 14, 2009 |
|
Please Contact the Governor Today! On Friday, September 11, the California Assembly passed Assembly Bill 962 by a 44-31 vote. AB962 now joins Senate Bill 585 on the desk of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) where they await his consideration. SB585 would prohibit the sale of firearms and ammunition on the property or inside the buildings that comprise the Cow Palace in Daly City, just outside of San Francisco. Simply put, SB585 is a stepping-stone to banning gun shows on all publicly-owned property in California. Please contact Governor Schwarzenegger TODAY and respectfully urge him to veto AB962 and SB585. The Governor can be reached by phone at 916-445-2841 or via fax at 916-558-3160. To email Governor Schwarzenegger, please visit http://gov.ca.gov/interact. |
Ya know, I was born in Texas. I live in Texas. I lived in California at one time and ended up moving back to Texas. And if I had an opportunity to move to California... I’d stay in Texas.
Stop worrying about California. Let “them” have it.
Please contact Governor Schwarzenegger TODAY and respectfully urge him to veto AB962 and SB585...
This is where you lose me.
I’m of the let him sign it camp. I want the festering boil of incoherent liberalism to rise so that we can lance it.
You know, as awful as Arnold can be, the citizens of CA are truly screwed should a Democrat win the governorship.
Anyone still in CA who hasn’t bailed yet (including my parental units) hasn’t seen the writing on the wall. Or is willfully ignoring it.
The ammunition bill is for handgun ammunition only. It does not cover all ammunition.
Where I live in central CA, there are no big box outlets for ammo. We have a few small gunstores and Wal-Mart. I shoot some hard to find calibers that are too costly or not stocked locally, so I buy most of my ammo online or at the gunshow that hits town 5-6 times per year.
This will kill online sales and probably gunshow sales also. AB 962 has nothing to do with public safety or reducing crime. It is all about infringement of rights.
I hope everybody floods Arnie with calls and emails.
Fingerprinting people who buy ammo for guns!???
What about people who buy arrows or bolts for crossbows? Or, maybe, ballbats or tire irons; box cutters or knives?
It seems idiot voters in CA just elect idiots like themselves to serve in the state legislature.
I’ve been doing my part, calling, emailing, faxing. Yet the a**hats in the senate and house passed them anyway.
Some of us aren't abject cowards who flee, leaving others to face the moonbats alone. Anyone who flees a state instead of staying and fighting will end up with the same sh** in whatever state they run to. I don't run, only cowards run away from a frickin' fight.
Only fools fight in a burning house. And California is patently on fire.
The other thing is that 1) you are vastly outnumbered, 2) there is no way for you to win the way the deck is stacked, 3) there is no good reason for you to hold that position.
Further holding actions will only squander your force. Fall back to a secure position, let the place collapse, regroup and advance to reclaim it once its fallen apart.
I have to agree with you.
Lots of .22LR handguns. T/C Contender G2 and Encore have barrels for just about anything you want. The 12" 30-30 Contender is particularly painful to shoot. The 15" .308 and 30-30 are fine with a 100 gr bullet on top. My point is that it is ridiculous to sit on your hands because this is "only" handgun ammo. They will be back for the really "dangerous" "sniper" ammo next.
Why do you think we are outnumbered? Part of the reason couldn’t be because of the chicken sh**s who ran off and left the rest of us to fight would it? It is cowardly to run and if you are one of those that run then I brand you coward, if the reason you ran was simply because you didn’t want to fight. Moving for a better job etc. is one thing, fleeing because you are terrified of the democrats instead of staying and fighting, that’s cowardice no matter how you try to spin. That’s all I am going to say on the matter.
Some of us have deep ties in this state that make it heart wrenching to leave. One such example is the grave of a son.
I left for a better education and because I realized after the LA Riots the state of California was never going to endorse the natural right of self-defense.
FYI, handgun ammunition is defined by section 12323(a) of the California Penal Code. It states:
"Handgun ammunition" means ammunition principally for use in pistols, revolvers, and other firearms capable of being concealed upon the person, as defined in subdivision (a) of Section 12001, notwithstanding that the ammunition may also be used in some rifles.
How nice of folks in other states to surrender on behalf of us. However I respectfully disagree. In the opinion of this Texas girl - Never should one square inch of soil in ANY state be surrendered to communists. Not Now. NEVER.
I plan on making a trip to Vegas from California next month to see some friends.
Looks like I’ll have to make it an AMMO run instead.
