ABC News reporter Terry Moran caused quite a commotion tonight on Twitter following after writing: "Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a "jackass" for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential."
Although it wasn't long before Moran removed it, with over a million followers, the tweet quickly bounced around Twitter through various users.
Now, an ABC spokesperson explains to POLITICO what happened:

The president should have handled that differently or stayed out of it. Yea Beyonce is cooler, sexier, and cuter than Taylor Swift, but I have to say Kanye was rude when he did that.
If I knew how, I would photoshop Kay Nay’s head into a crop circle, that would be great!
There is no doubt she's good looking. She also gives the image of being someone, how shall I say it? Friendly with the boys. She gives the impression of being VERY shallow and materialistic.
But hey, I guess thats what you consider "cool and sexy".
I would love to cast a stone at that jack ass. That was not an apology. An apology goes something like this,
“I am sorry for doing/saying _____________. It was wrong, and I am sincerely sorry. I will never do it again.”
This jack ass has had to apologize a lot, and every time he tries to explain it away. .....”I am sorry but....” This guy is a coward, he is a Peter Pan thug. His date looked like a Ron Jeremy supporting actress. He is lucky Taylor didn’t kick his butt off the stage, short little skinny crop circle head that he is. He stated George Bush hates black people. How much of his own money did he give to the victims of anything? I gave money, and I have far less than this clown.
“Piss be upon him!!!”
The point is that the Kenyan should be blamed for all racially charged incidents like this. He was supposed to end tensions between the races and instead he has made them worse.
This is the Kenyan version of blame W for everything strategy.
Obama calls Kanye a 'jackass'...
O'Bammy: 'That's not the Kanye West I know'
..............................
and another Friend Of Barry (FOB) goes under the bus.
He actually called something correctly?
Quick-someone take his temperature!
He might be gravely ill.
Sounds good to me. One jackass calling another jackass a jackass. Obama finally got something right.
See, now *that’s* the first time he’s had his finger on the pulse of America.
“In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.”
Oh, it’ll happen again. It’s just not gonna get tweeted, that’s all.

As much as I agree with that assessment of Kanye....I have to ask. When is the last time (ever) that a President called a private citizen a name like that? What other President targeted private citizens out in the open, up front, and in public? First Joe the Plumber. Then essentially calling Sarah Palin, the private citizen, a liar. And now this. I also have to ask. Just who the hell does Zero think he is? Certainly not the holder of the highest position in the greatest country in the world. Maybe just a pretendabe. He knows he’s a phony and he’s living down to his own expectations.
This is great! I thought him a jackass myself. By having the same thought as Obama, this says we are not racist. From this day forward if someone calls us racist, all we need do is point to Obama thinking the same thing about a black man as we.
You could be right, it was just my impression. Though minor in the scheme of bigger things (I live in NY where O’s FBI just screwed up nabbing a terror ring), I see a general trend of worsening race relations and things like this only reflect that. Again, I could be wrong. Blessings. Ari
