WASHINGTON The capital was rocked today by a taxpayer march and rally that could be the biggest protest ever potentially dwarfing the Million Man March and the Promise Keepers Rally.
Though crowd estimates vary from as low as 60,000 to 70,000 according to ABC News to a high of 2 million by London Daily Mail, photographs and videos of the march and rally demonstrate its enormity.
The taxpayers stormed Washington, D.C., today, taking their fight against excessive spending, bailouts, growth of big government and soaring deficits to the front door of the U.S. Capitol.
All week citizens have been heading to the Hill by the busloads for the showdown today. The Tea Party Patriots' "Tea Party Express" national bus tour has been hosting a series of tea party rallies all across the nation. A caravan of buses, speakers and entertainers arrived in Washington, D.C., just in time for the march. The taxpayers have paid their own way to the event.
The White House said Friday it was unaware of the rally. President Obama has traveled to Minneapolis, Minn., to promote his health-care plans at a rally there.
But so many taxpayers showed up on Pennsylvania Avenue that the crowd ran out of room and the march was forced to begin early.
WND was at the scene to get crowd reaction and take photos of the protest.

Hehehe...........
That jerk is aware of it now.
Regardless of what the liar says.
Good work...markomalley caught my distance mistake too.
I had 198k for square footage on Pennsylvania...corrected, that would make about 54k people per pass for the nine passes.

LIES, LIES, AND MORE LIES!
Also known as “Plausible Deniability”.
As far as the estimates of the crowd, I'll go with the British news crew of 2 million, because they have not ax to grind, or Marxist/Fascist to promote.
Drop them a nice friendly note and tell them you heard about the protest from several personal friends who were there, and you are concerned about the lack of reporting about it.
Suggest that if whoever their Washington bureau chief is doesn't notice that there is a crowd-induced total gridlock right outside his own front door, he's probably missing other stories as well.
Recommend that if they don't want everyone laughing at their oblivious reporting, maybe they should replace this field reporter with someone a little more observant...

Let me make sure I understand this: You rely on a post by someone who claims to know someone who has lived in DC for 60 years who said it was the biggest crowd he has seen while those of us who are supporting lower numbers based on objective evidence like pictures and mall diagrams (and who, incidentally, have been on this board a lot longer than you have), and at least in my case who was actually at the rally, are trolls? LOL!
And for what it's worth, if you read through the count threads you will see quite a few posts by lifetime DC residents who attended the rally and support the couple of hundred thousand number.
thanks
I am certain that my numbers are in the right direction. having done 4 Independence Days and walked all over D.C. a jillion times.
I love having drinks at the Willard and made that walk sooooh many times.
The pictures and live cams just show what I can guess at and I am trying to be conservative.
oh! That gives me an idea for how I can measure this a little better.
Thanks.
Wish I could have gone but, I take care of a very elerly friend.
I read that someowhere last night that that is what the Metro police were saying?
F U “Nimrod!”
Fixed it
You are welcome ;-)
You seem to be trying to disrupt everyone’s enthusiasm by downplaying this event and the morale it creates, at a time when we truly need to be lifted up under this threat we all face.
I can't understand why you want to give the SRM credit for down playing our resolve or enthusiasm. Or are you on their side?
That you were there in spirit is what counts!!
Conservatives by definition are responsible people, maybe next time it will work out that you may attend.
Of course I'm not on their side. I don't have an agenda here. I was there. I saw. I have matched what I saw against the diagram. If we want to create the illusion in everyone's mind that we had 2m people due to the political impact that might have, then fine. I just remember how much fun we had ridiculing the Million Man March folks about their inflated counts. Though bending the truth or outright lying in order to achieve their goals is routine for the liberals, I would like to think that is not acceptable for us.
Good points.
I was unable to be there, too. But on Saturday evening, when I was able to see pictures of the event, I cried. And I never cry. But I had tears down my cheeks this weekend at the show of unity displayed by my fellow countrymen.
There is life in this country. The citizenry is not dead.
The MSM lies and lack of coverage do not matter. What matters is that WE understand our power and solidarity, and that the (lying) administration is aware of us as well. Do not think the public farce they express through Gibbs doesn’t conceal the true worry they feel with the understanding that so many Americans oppose their plans for this country.
Keep the momentum going. And thank you for all those who made your presence known in the belly of the beast.
I copied and pasted and circulated the WND story and pictures on it. My local rag had nothing, and whatever was on the networks was a portrayal of the event, not an accurate reporting of it (cept for Foxnewschannel). It was truly inspirational.
