America buying his BS?

They just love his speeches. Too bad they won't be able to afford to watch his speeches on TV when they get hom from the bread line a year or so down the road

Overall, 52% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance. That represents a two-point gain following the speech and is the highest rating for the President since July 17. Forty-eight percent (48%) now disapprove. Eighty-four percent (84%) of Democrats approve while 78% of Republican disapprove. As for those not affiliated with either major party, 43% offer a positive assessment and 56% give a negative review.

The President’s speech also provided a bounce in support for his health care plans. Fifty-one percent (51%) now favor passage of the plan while 46% are opposed. Those figures include 28% who Strongly Favor the plan and 38% who are Strongly Opposed. Fifty-five percent (55%) now say it’s at least somewhat likely the proposal will pass.

Last Wednesday’s speech provided a boost for the President and his plans. The remaining questions are how long the bounce will continue, how high it will go, and where the numbers will settle after the bounce fades.

Americans are clueless.

Obama is a very dangerous man because he is such a good liar. The propagandists in the media are a powerful force.

They support the nonexistent "plan" he spoke about, not the one in the House. Once people figure this out, those numbers will again fall.

His base are excited about him, and his polarization. Look for them to continue their strongly approved rankings until the end of the year.

Independents and conservatives are less likely to strongly disapprove.

Give it time...

So the lies are working...for now.

What happens over the next few weeks when this hyped "0 moving to the center" the clown media is screaming about is prove to be nothing but a cynical PR move by the regime?

People tend to get very angry when they discover they have been being lied to by their public servants.

34%, hmmm.

In terms of segments of the American populace, that's about the number of:

Illegal aliens +

Violent felons +

SEIU members +

Lawyers

Once people understand these were lies, things will change. He is still in the negative which I think is unusual after a very good, but deceitful speach. Give the public some credit, they will figure it out soon.

Correct, as soon as the details of an actual bill come out, his numbers will drop like a rock.

Wow. Amazing how that can shift for no good reason. The speech was considered anywhere from a flop to ‘not a game changer’, but the numbers are moving. Crazy. A combination of a good liar and compliant media still do greatly impact public opinion.

What surprises me here is that the numbers shifted so dramatically against Obama and health care almost exclusively due to this issue, it seemed like it would stay solid as long as the big government solution was being peddled. Surprising. Sounds like opponents need to do something positive this week to shift back to our favor. There is no national counter-message at this point.

I think some of the people polled when he was in negative double digits were liberals who were angry because he wasn’t pushing the public option, just like the Administration and the MSM said. After his speech, they decided he was going back their direction, so they aren’t upset with him anymore. We should never assume that we have this in the bag. The leftists will pull their support from any liberal leader if they aren’t leaning left enough or moving fast enough or talking radically enough.

More likely the "normal" weekend pattern -- families tend to spend post-Labor Day weekends at soccer games and church, with the cell phone turned off. Not to mention that somewhere between thousands and millions of conservatives spent the weekend in DC.

Obamanoids tend to spend weekends at home with the blinds drawn, and are more likely to answer the phone.

Give it time. The Kenyan can't be impeached until January 2011.
