This letter is in regard to the small article hidden in the back pages of the Friday, Aug. 21 (PVT) issue reporting how town manager, Bill Kohbarger, has threatened any town employee or board member with "disciplinary action," should they reveal any town business without his approval.
This stemming from the information "leaked" that Harry Reid was coming to Pahrump. His reasoning behind this action is "protestors showed up" and it was embarrassing.
Our right to speak out against government was the first thing the Founding Fathers sought to protect. Our right to assemble to voice those grievances was included. The statement that the information was leaked reeks with the stench of government secrets and cover-up.
True to Dirty Harry's nature, he tried to sneak into town and out again and only meet with a few he thought would be sympathetic to his way of thinking. He chose the town office, hidden behind the fire station, unnoticeable from Highway 160, hoping to keep his visit from being noticed, like a thief in the night.

I’m sure those protestors might need to purchase gas, water, and food. Think about what it does for the economy. Obama has destroyed Nevada by telling businesses that they can’t go there. This mayor ought to be happy. Something the mayor has forgotten. The council works for the people. Idiot.

Pahrump is a bed room community about 40 minutes drive from Las Vegas.
It has rapidly grown as a cheaper alternative to living in Vegas.
Course now with so many foreclosures Vegas prices have really fallen.
A city manager is hired help. If the citizens feel he’s overstepped his duties fire his ass!
