Yesterday's 9-12 Project and the local Tea Party rallies were roaring successes. The Tea Parties are much more effective at voicing opposition to Obama's policies than the hapless GOP leadership in Congress. With the success of the Tea Parties, it will be only a matter of time before GOP politicians and especially potential 2012 candidates to attempt to make the Tea Parties as their own. Mitt Romney is a man who might try to "buy" the Tea Party movement. With his vast wealth, Romney could open his wallet and fund Tea Party rallies across the country until 2012. Under such a scenerio, the Tea Party organizers wouldn't have to worry about raising money for rallies.
Big Questions: If Romney gave generous donations to the Tea Party movement, does this entitle him to conservative support?
Slick Willard can only buy support, he has NEVER earned it.
I’m not voting for Romney, ever. I saw what happened to Mass. under his watch.
Willard "I-am-Myth" Romney being a Massachusetts Yankee
marching proudly with Martin Luther King, is a hoax. Romney father was born in Mexico.
Only on Planet Romney is Mexico at the same latitude as New England.
Second, the "stain" on Romney is not because Romney fooled the electorate
to give the carpetbagger the opportunity he squandered.
Romney's stain is from his fascist socialized medicine,
Romney's death panels, Romney's gay marriage imposed
through Executive fiat, Romney's raising of taxes (and then lying calling them "fees"), Romney's lying about LEO badges, his record,
and Romney's final coverup of the BIG-DIG.
You can preach to me all toy want about heritage and such, but to me, if he was good enough to be the Yankee (even carpetbagging)governor of the state that even residents deem Taxachuttes, he is stained and unsuitable as President.
Would you agree that he might be a born again Yankee which is separate and distinct from a religious conversion.
Wouldn’t the Tea-Parties have to become more Mittle of the Road in outlook?
It's because of the words in his speeches and his writings. ALL of the words, not the "sound bites" that are sweet music to conservative ears. He promises he'll cut regulation and promote capitalism. But hear all of his words before you fall into a swoon. It's easy to do -- just google his CPAC speech, for example.
Every single solution the guy puts forth involves more government, more regulaltion. More interference. More kow-towing to world opinion in the Global Warming scam. More legislation taking away rights of individuals and private businesses to discriminate privately and morally as is their God-given right against behaviors they perceive as perverse, such as open homosexuality -- Romney would remove your right to halt openly gay Boy Scout leaders in your sons' troops. He holds with those who presume to remove your right to decline and discourage acceptance of open homosexuality in daily life, from gradeschools to your work-a-day choices. He would remove your right to determine your own health insurance and health care choices.
Those who think it's about his religion are fooling themselves.
Exactly...
No!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and any Republican or Democrat who thinks he or she can usurp this movement needs to be marginalized.
So he's a Mormon, B.F.D. So is one of conservatism's most powerful beacons of light and truth, Glenn Beck.
--I don't think you understand. It's a MAJOR BFD that RINO Mittster Romney is a mormon. And Glenn Beck is a showman whose severe crack in his believability factor is the fact that he's a cult member of the mormon kind, after choosing to leave the True Church (Catholicism). Do us a favor and don't sugar coat your opinions as some kind of generic acceptance. Anyone who follows Joe Smith is not a "Christian"; it means everything. Sorry you don't see that.

Quoted by: Knitting A Conundrum
"It says freedom of religion. The clause doesn’t say anything about Christian, Deist, Jew (all of which were practiced/believed in in America at the time of the writing of the Constitution) or whatnot. You may not like a person’s faith, but our constitution gives them the right to believe as they will...even if it’s not in the Christian sphere.".
~Spin it any way you want. I don't think you get it. You cannot call yourself a "Christian" if you don't follow basic Christian Doctrine. "mormons" do not follow basic Christian Doctrine. They have every right to practice their cult, but no right to call themselves "Christian". Think it through. It's really quite basic.
Well said! I agree!
Where is the STAR "KOLOB"???
How soon do mormons become a god?
Cults gone bad.
Where's my cheeseburger?
Politics needs to say adios to both Romney and Reid. Obviously.
They are not meant to be in politics.
Obviously.
Aside: I have seen and read about there being many people at the Tea Party rallies showing their support for Mrs. Palin. I've not seen nor read about any other public figure being afforded equal consideration.
Sarah Palin's unabashed love for America is authentic - those at the various rallies understand this. They also understand that loyalty cannot be bought.
It is about principle. As always, Conservative principles are *not* for sale, will *not* be moved, and will certainly prevail.
Lots of Freepers dislike Harry Reid. Is that anti-Mormon bigotry too?
