Should Joe Have Apologized?
Canada Free Press ^ | September 11, 2009 | Bob Beers

Barack Hussein Obama continued his practice of lying to the American people. His topic was the gasping healthcare reform bill HR3200. Obama made a number of assertions that quite frankly were out and out lies; outrageous lies if you are one of the many Republicans who have read the bill. Not so outrageous if you are a Democrat who hasn’t even bothered to crack the cover.

Joe Wilson, Republican Congressman from South Carolina called Obama a liar. Mr. Wilson has been forced to apologize for having the bad grace to speak the truth in the hall of Congress. Pelosi’s face and the utter shock she expressed when he spoke out said it all. The media is not going to be kind and will probably treat him worse than what was done to Joe the Plumber. What is interesting about this is the continual inequity of reporting. You see, Harry Reid expounded on his feelings about President Bush the Second more than once and refused to apologize.

GW may have been inept, but the office still deserves a modicum of respect. What we have is even worse. Obama is not inept and he knows exactly the damage he is doing. Wilson was right. The President was delivering a pack of lies. Let’s explore his work of fiction

Joe Wilson’s “outburst” was the only truth spoken in that entire charade of a speech.

When Wilson is judged by the house and admonished for insulting the president of the United States on the floor of the house, I wish Wilson would raise the defense that Barack Obama is not constitutionally the president of the United States and therefore he cannot be guilty of insulting him.

If Wilson gets a chance to defend himself, he might possibly start that debate. I wonder if he would have the eggs?

Should Joe Have Apologized?

I wish Joe hadn’t. I wish he would’ve doused the fire with gasoline.

Joe should have a crew set up a screen in the chamber of congress and show a tape of the boos that were shouted at Bush during his State of the Union Address. Then, he should demand that THEY apologize. As a matter of fact, I think there was footage of Pelosi booing along with the rest of the dems.

Joe Wilson apologized because years of PC indoctrination made him do so.
He should not have apologized for telling the truth.

It’s not OK to do what Wilson did, yelling out as he did during a Presidential address to Congress. It demonstrates a lack of respect and civility, and it is explicitly proscribed. He should apologize. He was right to do so. And had Pelosi not said what she did in the 1-2 days following (’no further action’) I would say that an apology should be delivered on the House floor, to his colleagues.

But from all that I know, Wilson has played this perfectly, including his post-outburst temperament — refusing to engage Dems in heated battle.

The more Dems pursue this utterly irrelevant nonsense, the better off is Wilson, the GOP, truth & justice, etc. Let them hold their breaths until they pass out. Their behavior serves to focus attention on the truth (which is that Wilson is ... ahem ... correct) and maximize confusion in the public’s mind over the specifics of BO’s reform.

If he wants his legislation passed, BO must at some point mount an affirmative case for it. So far he has made the case for his version of health reform by claiming that the GOP is against it — so it must be good. I honestly think that won’t fly with the American public.

If by your logic that is true, then the Democrats should offer an apology to George Bush for booing him in his speech. Harry Reid should apology for calling him a liar. Nancy Pelosi should apologize to the CIA for calling them liars.

The Democrats insist conservatives should be civil all the while breaking rules of decorum. They hold conservatives up to moral and ethical standards that they refuse to abide by. I say no apology is necessary unless the Democrats offers theirs.

I wish Joe hadn’t. I wish he would’ve doused the fire with gasoline.

He can effectively do both at the same time and so far, that's what he does. Just don't ever let the debate become totally about what he did and let the Liar in Chief off the hook. Keep the focus on the real liar.

Never apologise, it is a sign of weakness.

Yes, for remaining silent so long. He and the Representative from Ill. who walked out were the only real Americans in that chamber that night.

I think you are right, it is kind of like an ojbection in court, even if you win your objection, the jury still heard the words.
I think however, something will get past, then sh.. fan ..
My ancestors fought hard for this country, I have had it easy, now it is my turn to take up the battle.
I will do whatever I can do to fight this communist take over of america. thanks

What I thought the most offensive was the look on Pelosi’s face of a ruling queen who had just been offenden. She wanted to say “Off with his head!”

Heckling in Congress would help draw attention to the elephants in the room.

I just read on another thread that Wilson will NOT march to Frau Koch's orders to apologize on the floor of the House.

If you search my posts over the years, I am a huge fan of our last President. He was and is a man of great courage, wisdom and resolve.

Yes, the Dems were rude and obnoxious. I seem to recall a whole lot of rudeness emanating from freerepublic, as well.

Just because our intellectual adversaries are rude and obnoxious does not mean that we must be as well. There are some settings where we simply can not tolerate the double standard (conservatives can not be bound by precedent, for example, if libs are not). But part of my point is that over the long haul, rudeness is not going to pay off. If Obama can not mount an affirmative case for his plans — and I see no prospect that he will do so — then his entire radical agenda will fail.

I guess at the end of the day I have faith that the American people will recognize their mistake and throw these bums out of office. And it goes far beyond health care. It would be astonishing to me if Obama could treat Israel as he has and still get even a majority of the Jewish vote for Dems in 2010. I can not imagine trashing coal and winning WV and PA. Now ... maybe I’m naive.

And if you'll search my posts you'll find that I'm not at all a fan of George Bush. I believe he did far more harm to what Republicans should stand for-lower taxes, lower spending, smaller government. However, all the blame is not at his feet.

I'm not as optimistic as you. Government spending has gone beyond reasonableness.
