Yes, there is no text. But it is a factual photo (I wasn't sure where it came from originally) ... it's on a number of links on FreeRepublic. The more I read around, the more I see estimates between 1 million and 1.5 million.

I have heard "tens of thousands," "hundreds of thousands," and "1.5 million." I'm eagerly awaiting for the "official" crowd estimate. Sure great to see, though. LOTS of patriots!

Yes, I’d like to see a few GOOD aerial shots or satellite shots to get a better feel for the numbers.
I’d be THRILLED with hundreds of thousands, simply because the “right” doesn’t protest. We are too busy working, paying taxes and holding this country together!
I have seen on other posts that folks at DU are having a meltdown over the crowd attendance, so THAT ALONE is just AWESOME! I had tears in my eyes when I first saw pics of the crowds!

There is sme sort of estimate the park service can do from the aerial shots. I think that if the crowd between the Washington Monument and the Capitol spills in to the side streets that it tends to be something like 750,000. this looks like a whole lot more than this.

Birds-eye view always looks more densly packed than it really is because you cannot see the large patches of grass between people.

Take the Park Service estimate of 1.2 million (preliminary). That is 0.38% of the USA population. Seeing that 1% would be 1 out of every 100, we had .38 of every 100. This is 3.8 out of every 1000.
Or more than 1 out of every 300 people in the USA was protesting in the streets of DC today. It was a tremendous success!
Millions 1.2/315 = 0.00381 = .38 %
