WASHINGTON (AP) -- Democratic leaders are planning a House vote early next week to admonish Republican Rep. Joe Wilson if he does not apologize on the House floor for yelling ''You lie!'' during President Barack Obama's health care address to Congress.
National attention from the heckling episode has money pouring into Wilson's campaign treasury and that of his 2010 Democratic challenger. Wilson had raised more than $700,000 since the incident as of Friday, according to the National Republican Congressional Committee. His opponent, Rob Miller, had received more than $1 million from 25,000 donors nationwide, said his campaign manager, Lindsay Zoeller.

I’m sick of McCain too. He’s always glad to play the useful idiot. Mr. Statesman, above party politics. He’s so damn clueless.
I’m going to call John Boehner’s office Monday morning. I’m sure he won’t stand silent for this crap.
lol!!
<sarcasm Why didn’t they admonish themselves when they booed Bush? </ sarcasm
Bunch of hypocrites.
That guy is a liar. He wouldn’t begin to know how to pray and God would never answer his sick “prayers.”
Such a move will end up exciting the “non-leftist” base even more. Bring it on, Nancy!
Wow. Ahhh, those wonderful, peace-loving liberals!
The United States of The Powers That Be and the Media that Represents them
This speech or apology should be simple and to the point:
I’m sorry that Charles Rangel can’t add up numbers or be honest to the IRS.
I’m sorry the President can’t be MORE honest than what he is.
I’m sorry that Senator Ted Kennedy wrote hundreds of lines of legislation to benefit his family trust and profit from it.
I’m sorry that no one knows how many million (45 million or 30 million) Americans have medical care.
I’m sorry that GM and Chrysler got all that bailout money and will probably never pay it back.
I’m sorry that I’m an American and I have to put up with stuff like this on a daily basis.
Well, I heard one of his Republican colleagues saying that they (the Democrats) are looking to strip him of his committee assignments. I don’t know how that works. Can they do that, or is that controlled by the Republicans?
The dems really are stooopid. This will be played up and the folks who didn’t watch Bambi lying on tv will get the opportunity. It will also make them look really petty.
I have little faith in most “Americans”. I am about to bail out.
Over what?
Obama is the same sneak, cheat and liar that did not establish civility with the racist Gates incident. Obama set the tone maybe we should have a Moonshine summit in South Carolina
Joe Wilson, he should standup and clearly state based on this fact alone;
He is an elected American Representative, who was there being lied to. For he should say clearly without reservation while someone is lying or not telling the truth to the American public, he, Wilson, will not put up with it. He stands in between sneaks, cheats and liars to protect the American public for he has a duty and has taken an oath to protect.
I agree with you about Joe Wilson giving a big raspberry to the dims admonishment, it is as much BS as all their other Legislation...
Joe will be the New flag Bearer for GOP, and can turn this Wildass gambit by the dims on its tail.
I’m Sorry when hell freezes, and the Arctic melts...
The Present called Americans, media hosts and esteemed members of the August Body before him LIARS both directly and by innuendo.
This is outrageous. If we are going to have UK style health care crammed down our craw, then, perhaps US politicians should prepare themselves for UK style outbursts from the opposition.
IMHO, Representative Wilson said nothing more than many Americans were thinking. His apology was accepted. End of story.
Here’s my one finger salute to the House.
I would like to make a statement regarding my remark during the Resident's address to both houses last week. To my fellow Republicans, I apologize for the behavior, which we historically witness from the members of the opposition, displayed by me last week. I ask your indulgence for failing to adhere to the higher standards which we conservatives try to uphold. To make that one remark “Lie” is more characteristic of Nancy Pelosi who called the conservatives or those who embrace an opinion opposite to hers as Nazis, or expressions such as those made by Sen Reid about former President Bush when he served in office, or even the disrespectful boos and hisses emanating from the opposition during the Bush Administration....yes I regret that I, in an instant of unbridled frustration, allowed myself the luxury of behaving in the manner we would expect of the democrats across the aisle. That said, I stand by my opinion.
