Dad vows to get back baby he says was left in Italy
Houston Chronicle ^ | 9/11/09 | CINDY HORSWELL

Posted on 09/11/2009 7:28:26 AM PDT by laotzu

Houston - Brandon Henry said he knew in his heart something was wrong with the story his girlfriend first told about their baby dying at birth in a Sugar Land hospital.

And now the store clerk said he believes his newborn son is in Italy, discovered by nuns who found him abandoned at a church in Florence.

Italian newspapers have reported that a woman, carrying a 2-day-old infant swaddled in a gauze-like cloth, entered the church of Corpus Domini. Shortly afterward, the nuns noticed the woman gone and the baby lying on the floor near the door.

Henry says the woman was his girlfriend, Stephanie Chavarria, and the baby theirs.

Henry said Chavarria's parents had not thought he was good enough for their daughter. But he thought the birth of the child would change things and they could then marry. She has another child, a 3-year-old girl.

After Chavarria told him the baby died, he said her parents refused to speak to him.

He decided to start looking for the baby, beginning with a check of hospital records, and found Chavarria had never lost a child at the Sugar Land hospital.

When he could get no explanation from his girlfriend or her parents, he went to Sugar Land Police.

Sgt. Matt Levan said Chavarria denied ever being pregnant, until her boyfriend produced an ultrasound that had been made in July.

When confronted by that information, she returned to the police station with her father and confessed to having left the child at a convent while she was vacationing with her family in Europe.

The police ended their involvement, since no crime had been committed in Sugar Land.

Now he is working with an Italian attorney to send DNA specimens and recover his child.

Why would he marry into that sick family, anyway? Yeesh. Hope he gets his kid back.

And then he needs to quit screwing around with slutty women and raise that kid up right!

I do too. It’s so unfortunate these days how fathers are left out of their children’s lives by women who should have never laid down with them in the first place.

Yeah, how's that peace and love been working out for ya, children-of-hippies generation?

I love how you phrase it so it’s all the woman’s fault, the man has no responsibility.

What's unfortunate is that men take their sperm delivery for granted -- it's not "their" problem until a child is missing. Chastity isn't just for women. A man also has to safeguard his future children. It's not like condoms aren't freely available.

In this particular case, the man is the only one who has taken responsibility. The "mother" - who already has another illegitimate child - lied to him about his child and deliberately abandoned the child on another freaking continent to keep the baby that she didn't want away from the baby's father who clearly wanted the baby. To make matters worse, this b*tch's reprehensible parents conspired with her to go on "vacation" to Europe where she could deliver and abandon the baby far from the loving care of the baby's father.

The only good thing to come out of this for the young man is that he certainly has learned that it would be a huge mistake to invest even another second of his time with this horrid shrew. If there is any justice in this case, he should get custody of the baby and the shrew's parental rights should be terminated with extreme prejudice and a restraining order issued against her and her parents ordering them to never contact the child.

Clearly a bad match. I’m not sure that the blame is entirely the young woman’s or her family. And, if he really wants his child back, then I guess he has a right to seek for it. But I can’t help wondering if the baby wouldn’t be better off with the nuns in Italy, or offered by them for adoption there, than with a single father.

The whole thing is a mess. Prayers for the baby.

“since no crime had been committed in Sugar Land”

Hard to believe, because in most states, taking an action designed to permanently deprive the other parent of their child, is a crime called “custodial interference”. It’s a felony, and usually accompanied by a provision that if the child is returned within a specified time, charges cannot be pursued.

I was raised by a VMI grad and USAF fighter pilot and a Miss Mississppi USA and have no complaints...they are both gone now.

I honestly don't think this generation of psuedomen will make any better daddies than freaks did. I had long hair, listened to Led Zep, Dead , Floyd and Skynyrd and smoked ganja prolifically till aged 22 and I am an excellent dad to 5 and husband to one. Guns, God, pro-life and all traditional..anyone here knows me knows that.

I have young kids and deal with 30 something parents..they are much more permissive than my southern style boomer aged group...and the women more often than not overtly run the men.

(i ain't picking at you..you are freeper in great standing) emasculated men Pictures, Images and Photos

Ok, woman tells a man that his CHILD HAS DIED, then runs away to Italy, drops infant off at a nunnery, to ensure the man cannot love his child.

Annnnd somehow, this treachery is his fault too? The feminine mind truly is a *wondrous* thing to behold.

That’s sort of the point - HE’s trying to be responsible. And in this case, IT IS the woman’s fault.
