I doubt it. Obama wants us to forget about the terrorists on 9-11. We're supposed to be remembering "man-made disasters" through state-directed "service."

Sounds like a low-level screwup, and not really much of one, since it looks like these reports came from people listening over Coast Guard frequencies (which I'm surprised aren't more secure) rather than anyone actually observing the vessels involved.

In fact, I have no problem with them running exercises on September 11. Maintaining readiness to make sure September 11 doesn't happen again seems to me like a fine way to honor the victims. Besides, in its small way, it reminded us that we're still at war, a fact a lot of people in our government would like us to forget.

Despite Gibbsy's chastisement of CNN for getting it wrong, even the CG admitted in it's noon presser in re: the inceident that it may have screwed up here.

Coast Guard to review exercise after Potomac security scare:

The U.S. Coast Guard promised a "thorough review" after a training incident Friday along the Potomac River briefly triggered concerns about the security of President Obama on the eighth anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

"We are still gathering information [on] how this training event might have been misconstrued as an actual incident. We will conduct a thorough review of this incident," the Coast Guard said.

Rush just reiterated almost exactly what I wrote above....essentially that the slavering media was making a stupidly dramatic mountain out of a molehill.
